One thing that I noticed when looking at the information regarding discrimination:
Gays and Lesbians are lumped in with Bisexuals (makes sense) and with Transgenders (Doesn't make sense to me).

They're all labeled as "the Alternative Lifestyle" but that could actually be hurting the gay and lesbian community.
Transgenders are a whole different ballgame (so to speak), and when legislation includes them as the protected group it probably results in all the fence sitters to sway to the opposite direction.

Just my opinion.

Possibly. There would be some accuracy in differentiating between sexual orientation (who you're attracted to) and sexual identity (who you think you are).

It certainly helps muddy the issues... but I'm not sure what really could be done about it at this time.

Would you like your livelihood to be put at risk by some unknown mapping of state and municipal laws?

I think the laws should protect them to begin with, so you know my answer.

But look at how divided the country is on these type issues.
Do you see about the half the states having a huge employee purge to rid themselves of gay people? I'm not saying that people don't get fired for being gay, I'm just saying that it's probably rare, and usually for some other reasons as well.

For starters, the anti-discrimination wording should either be entirely inclusive (no discrimination for any reason) or be more selective (don't list gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders exclusively).

Or treat transgendered differently, because I'd be shocked to learn if this wasn't a true mental or psychological disorder.

I can't attest to frequency of people actually being fired for being gay. I doubt there are stats out on that. And "some other reason as well", isn't a defense. Someone is either a good employee or not. If they're "just barely good enough to keep the job" but being gay tipped the scales to them getting fired... well, then they've been discriminated against.

And the country being divided on this just makes it riskier....

THOSE were epic!

Wasn't he a prize fighter or something? Always posting up some really skanky wimmens.

He went ballistic on some thread where I mentioned Fishbone was going to be playing at some nightclub and he went all limp..."that place is a war zone" "You can die there" kinda speak...I lost all credibility for a guy that can't muster up the price of a ticket to watch a live band! It's not like they're playing at a Klan rally or some other nonsense! Gimmie a break...I've lived all over the US, been around the world and been in some real Hell holes...try going to the Warehouse District off Jefferson Ave in Detroit (which I would do on a REGULAR basis!) and get back to me about how "dangerous" and "deadly" Seattle is!

Mr.Wifebeater talks about having a "life" outside of the site...I make a living posting here. BIG difference!

Besides...I'm not trolling for friends.
