Specifics are useless (from either side) as that just provides anecdotes (same problem you have). I'm trying to see if anyone ever did a study showing conflict resolution.

If you want anecdotes, any time a complaint is filed against an Islamic student praying in class. That counts as "tattling"... complaints against a scoutmaster being gay... complaints against there being free condoms in the nurses office.

In order:

1. Islamic prayers: You don't confront the individual because we're not upset about them being Islamic. It's their insistence to stop in their tracks, lay out the prayer mat, and face mecca regardless of others around them.

2. gay scoutmaster: again. You can't tell someone to "not be gay". If you have an issue with your kid spending nights in the woods with a homosexual you might feel compelled to bring it to someones attention. being that we're talking about the scouts, it's obvious that the guy is liar since they don't allow that. (note: not my argument. I personally would speak to the dude to let him know that some will watch him more closely than a straight guy).

3. Condoms: How do you confront a condom face to face? Nevermind. You're rugby. You already know...

Ummm.. then in what way are you talking about "tattling"? Any of the above examples could have an up-front interaction.

Are you seriously going to give me the following argument:
"Conservatives are more up-front about dealing with issues and don't tattle behind someones back. As long as the issue is a very specific situation in which I am imagining my fantasy conservative man on a white horse"?

If one person is offended, the thread should be pulled.

And if one person is offended by cigars or cigar smoke, they should no longer be sold.

It is important that nobody is ever offended by anything ever again.

I can't find any studies. Best I've got are brain studies.

http://newsroom.unl.edu/releases/2012/02/01/Political+biology%3A+The+left+rolls+with+the+good,+the+right+confronts+the+bad
Doesn't really give us much on conflict resolution tho.

Conservatives have poor emotional control when it comes to "change"
http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/intersection/2011/09/07/your-brain-on-politics-the-cognitive-neuroscience-of-liberals-and-conservatives/
Also doesn't actually say how a person handles "conflict" just that people with a smaller ACC (conservatives) would have a more emotional and less logical response.

So, what we're left with is anecdotes, and your oft loved belief that liberals go and tattle, while conservatives are forthright and up-front people (as long as it's under certain situations).

Read more slowly.
You might comprehend the words.

You can't decipher the difference between typing a "confrontation" on a cigar forum and approaching a gay scout leader to out him?
Really?
Is that your stance, Senator Craig?

So, you're restricting this to cigar forum confrontations now?

What the hell is your sample size for "liberal"??? Rick? Trish already said he doesn't tattle. Me? I'm much too confrontational.... All you're left with is conservatives. You guys are tattling on each other! 🙂

Agreed. But thin skinned whinyness comes in all political flavors. Just because the thread started with a bash on our president, doesn't mean the offended individuals were liberals.

victor809 wrote:

It comes down to Thinkers vs Feelers. Thinkers think, and share their opinions. Feelers based most of their decisions on how they feel. It is more of a liberal thing (governed by emotions) than a feminine thing But to Victor's point, conservatives are certainly not immune.

If I had a dollar for every time a republican political figure makes a stupid comment, there is always a rush RepubIdiots that can't help themselves with "Yeah, but Obama did/said________"

It is akin to defending Hitler being good person; killing only 6 million Jews, because Stalin killed 20 million of his people.

Yes.
Because only the kkk can poke fun at Obama speaking like a southern baptist minister.

Vic, this is why nobody really listens to liberals. And why so few liberals self identify themselves as such.

I realize the rest of your post was actually true. This IS about the money.
But even subtle jabs that suggest racism whenever a critique or an attempt at humor is made shows that the liberal agenda is a one-trick pony.
