Just heard that yesterday he openly announced that although he opposes abortion, he will not endorse any legislation which changes current law or Roe v. Wade.

I believe this has been his stance all along.

Of course, if you look at the wording he could still appoint a SC justice to do the dirty work for him and he'd still be true to his word.

Either way, the abortion issue is fuqin stoopid. Anyone who votes for a president on this one issue is ignorant.

Last night, Frontline did a great historical expose on both candidates with interviews of old friends, teachers, etc. Flipping on abortion was a big issue when he was in Mass. He sounded like John Kerry: I was against it before I was for it, then I was against it and changed my mind again yesterday." Must just be how people in Mass. are?

It wasn't political. it was historical and very well done. Just showed the candidate's lives before they got in to presidential races. Check it out.

Seriously this is not new. Many people take a hands off stance to this subject because it is so emotional. As a child of God i know it is Murder. As a Father i remember that this stance can be very hard to live by..

I don't even consider this issue when voting.
If all other issues between candidates were exactly equal, I'd vote based on how hot their wife is before I would care about their stance on abortion.

Now, if we're talking about using public money for abortion, or preventing a clinic from performing procedures on underage girls without parental consent, etc., then I would care about the issue.
But to put this in the same category as the economy and taxes and foreign policy, etc is idiotic and the time spent discussing it while our country sinks is unforgivable.

The procedure is heinous. We treat stray dogs better than unborn children.
But there is no way in hell that this "choice" could ever be taken away without jeopardizing the safety of young women.

if it supports my current thinking its a good source. if it disagrees with me the it is an invalid source. my mind is open to say differently means you are biased.
