You have to look at these polls in detail. Many of the ones showing a dead heat, or Obama winning by a point or two, are weighted toward Democrat responders. If you poll 5 - 6% more Democrats then Republicans, and show the race even, what's that tell you?

If ****** Morris is right (and I did say "if"), and this turns out to be a Romney landslide, just wait till you see the spin from the MSM. Reactions from dumbfounded to "the Republicans must of stole the election". May end up with rioting in the streets, and we'll have the MSM, with their biased reporting and unfounded accusations to thank for it.

I simply asked a question. Morris and Rass (with apologies to the Cuban vitola of the same name) are simply skewed sources. You don't need to be a partisan of any stripe to admit this.

Local ABC affiliate just started gloating about a new Wasington POST poll that shows Obama with a 3% lead. Washington Post? Talk about a skewed poll.

Rassmussen has proven since their inception to be the most accurate.

Nice try.

Contrary to what some may think, I rarely watch Fox News. The local ABC affiliate is my regular station up here in Jersey, with the local FOX affiliate in NC. Usually watch local news only. I never listen to talk radio, and I'll be voting Ron Paul tomorrow morning (write-in).

OK, many thanks Bloody. But I'll still stick with 538.

My pleasure, fiddler, and thanks for forcing me to do a little research on the 538 blog. I thought 538 was a play on the Fuentes 858 line at first. You probably know how much I enjoy cigars but hate to read & research nowadays... I'm not proud of it.

The 538 blog appears to be run by a rather effeminate man, but that's just a curious aside (gay agenda?), named Nate Silver who has NEVER polled anyone. In fact, it appears that he DEPENDS on polls. But the problem here is that many of the polls have a good track record for being WRONG. Rasmussen was the most accurate poll of the presidential election 2008 and 2004 and he totally ignores it. He is now depending on polls which are usually proven very wrong such as cbs, nbc, washpost/abc, etc.

He was dead on in 2008 (and in the easily predictable 2010 backlash elections) probably because it was a one- sided election between an erudite, fresh-faced, "clean" black man spouting hope like an evangelist and an elderly, tired, political retread who was behind on almost every poll. IMHO, using that criteria, even the hapless Joe Biden could have easily made an accurate prediction- which the grinning moron did.[gonzo]

This race is too close for anyone to spew the rather laughable "Obama has 80% chance of winning in Florida" among other unintentionally riotous sounding predictions. My guess is that Mr. Silver will be a non-issue after this election but who knows? He may buck the trend & get lucky again by ignoring the very same polls which gave him gold last time.

We'll see in 72 hours.

CNN weighted their poll 11 points in favor of Dems, yet they show a tie. ABC has Obama up 3 points, but weight their poll 36% Democrat, 29% Republican. Is the weighting going to accurately reflect the actual turnout? The early voting says that these polls are weighted too heavy toward the Dems, but who knows?

Let’s face it – Romney has it in the bag. No need to bother yourself with going to the poles, he’s got it knocked. As bad a Obama has done, how could he win?

Congratulations President Obama, congratulations Nate Silver & 538. Good night Mitt, good night Rasmussen. It is a violin, after all.

Yes, congrats to you (Fiddler, Drywall, Brehaw) & the rest of the Obama army. Enjoy it for whatever it's worth and for as long as you can.

Btw, HD, TW & I were among the Reaganites who predicted this impostor would win but still hoped for the best.
Praise God we prepared backup plans.
Heaven help this country.
