Victor lets be realistic what can be done about the Sun or a Volcano eruption? 🀦

Not a whole lot, if you want to do something by all means go and do it. But naturally occurring phenomenons? Really? Its like trying to stop the sun from rising?

Oh, but let me guess you would try to find a way to stop earths rotation and have it spin in the opposite direction, because your not a defeatist.

Thanks Bloody

I try to stay away from politics and such but, because once I get started its hard for me to stop. But oh what the heck I defend others rights to speak, might as well have my voice be heard as well.

You defend other's rights in more than one way... Very cool to have another young soldier from Afghanistan (yes, I do read profiles). lol
Ooops sorry, I misspelled Havok. God bless and protect you, my friend.

Oh, but let me guess you would try to find a way to stop earths rotation and have it rotate counter clockwise because your not a defeatist.

Me personally? I wouldn't do much if the expected detrimental change was greater than 50 years. If it was in the next 10? then I might be more interested. Like I said, a cost-benefit analysis is primary... nothing happens till then.

But lets play with a hypothetical situation...
Lets say you're right... the current changes are natural and will continue to worsen. They are caused by "the sun"!!!! (this is possibly the least scientific explanation possible... are we talking distance from the earth? angle? flares?... ugh)...
Anyway, the sun is going to continue getting hotter for the next 500 years. At year 50, it is anticipated that the global temperatures will have risen enough to make costal areas non-existent... At year 100, arable land will be 10% of currently available. Total population impact is going to be 2billion dead by year 75, 4billion dead by year 100. Planet is predicted to be nearly uninhabitable from years 200 - 500 when it will start cooling again.

Ok... with that scenario in mind, would you do something? I'd think that if we knew we had 100 years to fix something that will kill nearly everyone... well? Seems that may be worth some investment. (Not by me, mind you... I don't like your children)... Hell, could be something as simple as a solar shield reducing the amount of radiation reaching the earth... I'm just saying that "natural" doesn't mean you twiddle your thumbs.

If we move there, won't that upset the natural balance of the environment for their three-headed monsters and stuff?

I can say with all honesty I don't care about your children, or anyone else's children.

Why Victor, that is honestly sad.
Surprising it is, that you would have boastful pride of such a thing. Did you lose you humanity somewhere along the way, or did you hunt it down and murder it?

. . . High though his titles, proud his name,
Boundless his wealth as wish can claim;
Despite those titles, power, and pelf,
The wretch, concentred all in self,
Living, shall forfeit fair renown,
And, doubly dying, shall go down
To the vile dust, from whence he sprung,
Unwept, unhonored, and unsung.

Emoticon kabuki aside, seems the consensus is;
a) Who care if itβ€˜s real, let’s party.
b) It’s not real anyway.
c) Even if it is real, FTW, it won’t be a problem on my watch.

Curiously, there is no common opinion of what science has found on the matter. And there is the belief that scientists are in the same boat as politicians when it comes to facts – that is, only marginally factual in order to manipulate.

Wrong assumption.

How about healthy skepticism of those trying to control the pucblic, and those who waste resources for profit. 16 years of no warming and we get one warm year and the knee jerkers are circle jerking again.

I think man may contribute but I do not believe that we are primary and I do not believe we are going to heal gods creation.

Go and google conservative. I don't like waste of any kind and I do love the earth.

Warming believers are largely self richeous jackasses that cannot handle a foreign thought rolling through their brain. Likewise there are those on the other side that bother me too. Start a discussion by asking a question then disrespect them for their answer is the Victor method. I don't like that and turns my respect meter off.

If someone uses an argument for control or profit I will ALWAYS question it.
