im sure they are not going to kill him due to intelligence reasons. you fight against your country, you are a traitor. i dont want to hear any sort of bull**** that he was an idealistic young kid studying religion. Religion doesnt require picking up an AK-47 and fighting US troops. Being a traitor requires that. end of story.

'gater, I agree with the first part of your last. He's guilty of bearing arms against US soldiers. He admits it. What about the prison break thing? He was there? Guilt by association? People tried that in the 50's. It aint right. All I'm saying is: "Before you pick the firing squad, make sure the guy actually did what is alleged". And if he renounced his citizenship, he can't be guilty of treason. He fought for his country and should be a prisoner of war. That was the original arguement. The Gov. made their choice and I think are satisfied with it.

To all you guys hoping Lindh gets the pulp beaten out of him every day: Sorry to disappoint you but if he goes to a maximum security facility, which he probably will for his own safety, he could be in solitary for 23 hours a day, and 1 hour a day in the yard, alone, with a guard watching. I think he should stay in excellent health throughout his term because it gives him plenty of time to see how f***ed up this whole idea was, and hey, maybe, just maybe, it’s not a good idea to go to some near east sh**hole and take up arms against my own country, which coincidentally happens to be in the possession of enough high tech firepower to pound the p*ss out of just about anybody it takes aim at. “Yea, maybe I should have let the whole Jihad thing go, and just worked at Burger King or somethin’. Ya think?”

The world according to Rick: If you use capital punishment for a convicted act of treason, you are a Nazi state. Hmmm. Bold words. Perhaps you don't know as much as you think. Exactly which Nazi trait do we embody?

: tailgater ---start with TIPS and work backwords to the illegal act of the supreme court stopping the counting and appointing george as president.--- now check the stock market. --- than check how george was made a rich man. --- check george's missing year with the nat guard.--check anything you want.--but you will still think he is the second coming.

Rick, you are right in the regard that GWB is in fact the Second Coming! It is refreshing to have a man in office who doesn't just think about himself and how much money he can steal and then worry about "not having sex with that woman"! Rick be glad that he was "appointed" as you point out in nearly every post! Charlie

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of not allowing a repetative recount that would have continued until they fabricated the results they wanted ("they" being the Gore camp), As for Dubya being rich, he was born that way. Don't be angry if he was able to capitalize on it. And his "missing year" from the Guard? Are you ****ting me? What's more appropriate: a vague reference to some unaccounted time, or dodging the draft and staging militant opposition?

C'mon 'gater. I think we can agree that neither is appropriate. Is one worse? Maybe. But pointing out one person's bad behavior to justify anothers....is just wrong.
