Well.... technically, at the time the constitution was written, "Arms" referred to muskets and cannon. The knife was no longer a primary military weapon. So, technically the 2nd amendment does not apply to the right to knives and swords. The government can take them from you with impunity.

How about just banning the scary looking ones?

Would cleavers be exempt, I hope so or my favorite cooking show "Chopped" would have ot change its icon.

maybe just ban the ones with menacing curved blades...
