What is the per capita murder rate in GB. What percentage of murder and death in GB is gun-related?

Also, why is it we are allowed to bear arms? Defense from tyranny, self-protection, protection of others, subduing criminals, etc.?

Just wondering because I think that is lacking in this thread...

OK folks, in hind sight, I entitled the piece incorrectly. I should have used the words "gun prohibitionists" instead of liberal, but from what I see today, the two usually go hand in hand.

Nah, you did fine DP. Liberals are the evil boogie men that allow you to show your shining goodness.

Now as to what kind of world us hobgoblins want, we'll, I just give that some thought . . . .

yeah blah blah blah.... friggin politics.
it'll be generations before the pussifacation of america puts us in a place where we won't defend ourselves, or those we see being attacked. it is, unamerican, and i doubt it will ever come to that.

but you go ahead and hate liberals. or democrats. or nipdrivers- whatever. its time to break down these walls.

whatever.

Actually 9 I got it all wrong. They are pushing for the gun laws because they want background checks and stuff. That way they will be the only ones with guns. They are very politically active.

You missed the sarcasm...

Bravery would be running in to help even in the face of a low chance of success.

Simply shooting the cleaver wielding ass from 15 feet away is just good timing/good fortune for everyone involved.

I'm just bothered by your assumption that without a gun, no one would help. You seem to believe that if every single gun were taken away from every single citizen in the USA, we would suddenly be willing to watch someone with a knife slaughter people in front of us.... that makes no sense.

Example - Flight 93.
All people on that flight were disarmed... it's a microcosm of what you believe the liberals are trying to do to the US. Once they figured out what was being planned, it doesn't seem that they were so willing to sit around and wait for authorities...

honestly dp most of what you list just isn't true but some folks claim it (and beleive it) because it makes them some sort of martyr or makes them feel like a fighter (of strawmen) of some sort. Hard to beleive but the vast majority don't think like or agree with any of your bullet points. The ones that do are few or far between but you need those to justify things. In the end it doesn't matter what others think or say only what you do. If you have to point at someone else to justify your own thoughts you might be a doodoo head

Meh... your wife and kids are overrated. [sarcasm] (that was a joke btw... and people accuse me of having no sense of humor).

I would think the feeling of impotence and shame from allowing something like that would be more haunting than any fear of not making it out alive. But I don't know, I don't have kids. Either way, there was more than one person there, odds are that a few would fall in behind whoever had the nutsack to do something. Life isn't an action movie, you don't all have to wait your turn to try immobilizing/curb-stomping/killing the armed #sshole.

Either way, we're getting distracted.
