Eh, I dig footings by hand all the time for my patio covers and carports. Does that count? I do have a power auger, but the ground is usually so blasted hard that it just sits there spinning and going no where. Got to hand pick the holes with a 6' breaker bar.

I learned enough about about plumbing to never have to call one... has been well over 20 years since I did that stuff tho... being a homeowner requires owning a shovel tho... 😟

My ditch digging and post hole digging days are done since I moved to MA. One of the most prevalent root crops here are rocks.

It's no wonder the early farmers said "F This!" and kept moving west until they could till the soil without having to build rock walls with what they had to unearth each spring.

But you have no idea what they did or how hard they worked to become successful. It is guilty until proven innocent.

The biggest outrage is that it takes place on a cigar forum dedicated to a pure luxury item yet we're all supposed to still plead middle class barely getting by poverty status.

Regardless of which side I pick, I'm supposed to jump up and down and scream about the other side (the bad guys) shrinking the middle class with their evil measures.

I just choose not to participate. (...and, yes, I occasionally kick a peasant. Especially peasants who deserve to be peasants and middle class who act like peasants or try to claim to be peasants because it is politically correct.)

HD, first of all I am one who feels that the unrigged open market is dead and thus, the opportunities for the hard working small business are greatly diminished by Government trade agreements, insular sets asides, outsourcing, & foreign investments which benefit everybody but them and the average fella on Main street who buys cheap Chinese goods.

There's nothing wrong with working hard (and smart) & then being proud of your accomplishments but you will find that wealth is fleeting like the grain of sands when clutched too tightly. The lazy, fat, manipulative, ABLE bas tards (both corporate and individual) sitting back collecting from Uncle Sugar in the way of no-compete contracts, pensions and other welfare goodies while they begrudge others, have no solid basis for their harsh judgment on the working man. Their work ethic belies an unsettling and unspoken (yet very evident by their words) arrogance that says I got mine now FU & go get yours.

It's time we pulled a bit together during these hard times which will INEVITABLY affect all of us- regardless of our overseas accounts/investments.

Just my Jefferson two dollars' worth...
