I think that they should wait till these pros come down from their game rage before they interview them.

I also think that Sherman is an ass.

"I'm the best corner!!" Please.

I hope they lose just because I'd love to hear what he has to say after the SB.

I think Illinois point was that kids learn sportmanship from their parents not pro athletes. If they have to learn it from strangers on a Tv then parents aren't doing right by their children.

shaun341 wrote:

They're obviously not doing right by their children if the athletes today are acting like they do. Where were their parents to teach them that gloating to your opponent right after a win is poor sportsmanship?

I'm a SF fan. I don't like what he said, but he talked the talk, walked the walk and earned the right to say it. And like I said above... we don't know what was said on the field during the game. Maybe Crabtree had that coming?

I'm not happy about it, but it isn't as horrible as people are making it.

Wotcha taking? I wants me some.

Don't complain, guys, just try to enjoy these halcyon days for soon they may be memories.

In 15-20 years, we'll have glorified flag football with about ten canned and well rehearsed spiels for interviews.

"I'd like to thank the fantastic fans of San Francisco, you know? They did a great job. They supported their team, they got nothing to hold their heads about. And then I'd like to say something to the A-hole fans, that write on Facebooks, and Twitters, and Instagrams, and talk crap. Because because we appreciate the motivation. We appreciate it. You helped us win this game, so thank you very much. Appreciate it."

I can understand his penalty on the field. He hates Crabtree and wanted to taunt him.

Bad form, but we get it. We really do.

But to become the "angry black man" with Erin Andrews?

Get over yourself, you POS.

This isn't about his bragging.

Deon Sanders and Mohammed Ali were more than a little boastful in their days.

Be a likable person and it's OK.

whoah..... Did you see him?

“Crabtree. Don’t open your mouth about the best or I’m going to shut it for you real quick!” “L-O-B!”

His Stanford professors must be proud.

See? People want pc vanilla everywhere, in their sports (Costas with his safe editorials & just about every sports celebrity who interviews the same old crock comes to mind), in their politics, EVERYWHERE. As soon as as a street kid speaks his mind about an opponent honestly, albeit a bit crudely, he's attacked.

Make up your mind.

You want honest feedback, warts and all, or do want the typical rehearsed pablum that says nothing & can't be misconstrued as bulletin board material by opponents? Negros, please.

We are an mma society of rehearsed clownish declarations (later retracted) coated by politically correct sensitivity. Let us get some RAW emotion once in a while! I for one was amused and entertained by his genuine anger- not offended as were some sanctimonious folks.

I don't know anything about the guy and didn't watch the game. I just happened to channel surf past it when it was over and he was screaming into the camera.

It was just my initial reaction. It wasn't until later I saw a lot of other reports where people were using the word classless.

In another post someone mentioned 'losing with dignity.' I reckon 'winning with dignity' is not a bad concept either.

I think it's funny that people are upset over this but will look back fondly on the "good old days" of the NFL. Teams like the Raiders of the 70's. Guys like Deacon Jones, Butkus, Conrad Dobler, Nitchske. Those guys were cheaters of the highest order and played filthy. This Seahawks team is nasty as hell. You can either love them or love to hate them. Either way, they don't care. They...like the Raiders of the 70's.....are sure fun to watch. That game on Sunday was entertaining as hell. I saw hitting like I haven't seen in a very long time.

I have to weigh in on this conversation.

You can't expect a Man to be polite 10 minutes after a battle like that.

For an entire week he focused on beating this team down. I can only imagine how "amped up" this guy was.

Then factor in Crabtree smacked him in the face.

What do you expect. The guy did his job, shut down Crabtree to win the game, had an altercation, is now going to the Super Bowl.

I don't fault him for anything other than saying he's the best cornerback in the NFL.

First off, he repeated his low brow rant at the podium, after the "10 minutes".

Being "amped up" doesn't justify anything. It may explain it, but it's not justifiable simply because his hormones were in a tizzy.

Crabtree "smacked" his face? What kind of warped viewpoint is that? Sherman chased after the receiver, smacked him in the butt and then got in his face.

I like Pete Carroll. I was happy that Seattle won.

But Sherman's reaction was classless.

It's not a huge deal. But giving him a pass on an obvious display of poor sportsmanship shows just how low our expectations have become.
