Is Richard Sherman the best Cornerback? He was at the moment when it counted most.

We'll see what he has to say after the big futball match in February.

Heheh...

Why doubt his skill level because you don't agree with him as a person? He is if not the best which I think he is right now one of the best corners in the league. If peyton thinks he is going to make first downs throwing it to shermans guy(I think should be demaryius Thomas) then he is in for a tougher game then he wants. My guess as much of a student of the game peyton is he won't be throwing it much to shermans guy.

Please excuse my ignorance. I didn't realize, to have an opinion about a football players actions, your home state must have a professional team.

What was I thinking?

I guess there is no place for Quarterbacks or Recievers either.......Favre / Rice

Apparently some of you guys never played football. I trash talked. I spit...threw punches.....one of my favorite tricks was to get in a 3 point stance and grab a handful of dirt and grass and throw it into the opposing players eyes while simultaneously busting them in the chin. I got in their heads.....made them think.....meanwhile I was bringing down their QB like a lion on a gazelle. It ain't croquet or game of billiards over a pint.

I was also Student Body President and a decent student. I had a job and loved my Mom. I wasn't a "thug" or ghetto rat. I was a football player.

ps...I did the same things to my friends in practice and they did it back to me.

LMAO! That ought to shut 'em up... 🤔 no, it won't either.

It feels good to be sanctimonious.

Sherman's "less than chivalrous" spontaneity is not the best of example for kids on public airwaves but what about ongoing celebrity filth or Clinton's scandalous behavior? One should teach kids proper comportment at home. blah blah blah Besides, it's is understated for wrassling & for the fastest growing sport (and soon to be largest) mma.

Suggesting that your high school or D3 college is the same as the NFL is like saying winning a spelling bee qualifies you to be a professor.

Or being a community organizer makes you qualified to be POTUS...

OK.

He did "apologize".

But it is weak, was admittedly prompted by coach Carroll, and does more to make him sound like an ignorant punk than a remorseful Stanford graduate.

Just another example of low expectations being met. Perhaps even "surpassed", in the eyes of some.

Low expectations??? Isn't Coach Carroll the fella who believes that 9/11 and the Pentagon were Government hoaxes perpetrated on the American people?

...and Stanfor' grajauate? What was his majer? Emily Post 'tiquette? Lighten up, Sparky.

I think you are missing the point of his post. Or, perhaps I am missing it. When I read what he said, its not comparing High School football to NFL, but rather comparing the Drive To Win.

You can compare it to any sport or anything else that is competitive. I've worked with salesmen that talked trash....they could sell twice as much as the other guy....or so they said.

I guess if you don't have a competitive nature you wouldn't understand.

While I NEVER played dirty I always wanted to win. I talked my share of trash on the field. Sometimes it would intimidate and sometimes it would backfire and "amp" some guys up.

As time passes on this incident, I find myself beginning to appreciate Sherman. Yes, I too was taken back and somehow strangely, almost personally offended by his outburst but as time passes and I hear more from him (Sherman) I find myself actually beginning to like him. He has apologized for taking center stage and drawing from his team's overall accomplishment but he has not apologized for what he said. In this creepy PC world we now live in I find myself more offended by people that "misspeak" and retract while hitting the gas in reverse so hard they make bigger asses of themselves in there over dramatic apologies than the original perceived offense.

When Sir Charles was under fire for his on/off court antics and comments he simply replied that it was not up to him to be a role model rather parents should fill that role. Same thing here, you have a young man that just made quite possibly the play of his career and had a moment of sportsmanship that probably should have been more graceful. We all needed something to talk about anyway while we wait for the big game, mostly all theatrics when it's all said and done.

It is all hype anyway, the word "Thug" used 625 times while reporting this story. Who exactly is pushing this issue? NFL? Media? Indignant fans? Everyone is making money on this story except the average fan of the game. The topic should be more about ticket prices and maybe his Majesty the Commissioner's salary.

Oh yeah, GO BRONCOS!

Hockey is the last fun sport to watch!

Best I can determine is that they're trying to tie in "thug" as the new "nig-ger" word. Make mince pie out of road apples I always say.

Besides, our vocabulary needs to be curtailed mo' better. Aks Mr. Costas.
