Went to the Balcones Distillery here in Waco and after the tour of the stills we had a tasting of 6 of their whiskies. Awesome stuff. I walked out with 3 bottles, 2 for Tyyler and 1 for me. My brother and his wife went an hour later and walked out with 4 bottles, for me.................

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very true indeed. I'm new to it but now I have a back-up bottle in storage.

just finishing a Rock Hill Farms now. As much as I love it straight up, I tried it with 3 measly drops of water tonight and it was superb.

Blanton's. My current favorite. Bourbon is taking over my scotch thing.

Recently had:

Blantons
Glenmorangie La Santa

And tonight just picked up Jeffersons Reserve "Very Old" Bourbon. Got it for $32 out the door. Its not a bad dram. Definitely on the sweet side. Reminds me a lot of Knob Creek but a bit less burn and more syrupy caramel sweetness.

I've never tried the 46 but I just had a gut feeling is was a one trick pony show just like standard Maker's.Not that it's lack of complexity is a bad thing.........it's just not a flavor that excites me.
