Also I wrote right upfront- History is written by the victors; so france is in no position to claim others were wrong, it lost, it surrendered. England did not surrender, it won. It has earned the right to claim it was right.

The french are Ungracious in defeat and surrender.

The French accept apologies graciously. But are delusional about when apologies are offered.

One thing is clear to me now. The French accept apologys graciously. But are delusional about when apologies are offered.

With Scompay you just have to recognize his ability to form a proper apology, accept it as being the best he can muster, and move forward.

The important thing is that the Maginot line almost worked.
Had an uncle who fought in the French army. He said they had the fastest soldiers.

Didn't they (Germany) just walk around it?

SD, the Germans passed it like it was not even there. I think Bloody had a joke in there about the fastest shoulders.

Yeah Bloody is confusing at times.
I too thought he was speaking of the fastest soldiers in trench warfare. lol

joking aside, the gremans never took into account that the french could outrun the panzers. lol. Just like they never took into account the brits had a plane that flew slower than their anti-aircraft guns on the Bismark- lol.

LOL! He came back whole- looked like an all- american jock- affable too. You woulda never guessed they briefly tortured him with scimitars and salt...
The arabs must have liked him though. The others captured got it worse.

Happy blood moon day tonight!

On the bright side.....he prolly tortured a few of them too. Very bad things happened in some of those colonial wars.
