Complicated stuff there whistle. I always assumed there was a difference in recipe. So do they move the barrels around while being stored for all those years? My thought is that if they don't move them around then wouldn't there still be 8 years worth of barrels selected and stored in Elmers choices.

Last night at a Tat smoker:

And yes, had a pretty good time at the event. Shook hands with Pete, spoke to Janny. Ashed up 3 cigars, had the most variety of bourbon in one sitting:

Woodford Double Oaked
Woodford Distillery Select
Four Roses Small Batch
Four Roses Single Barrel
Jefferson ???

I've been nursing this bottle of Rock Hill Farms single barrel that Shaun sent me last year. Almost gone now!

Its delicious over a couple of Whiskey rocks and a good gar!

Just saw Rock Hill Farms when I was picking up components for my latest bomb.

Worth $70/bottle? Saw it once maybe 6 months ago for $40/bottle and considered it, since it was something I'd not seen before but it looked to be something that someone at least put the care into packaging, and with all the recent startup distilleries, there's been several new brands I've not heard of that have been quite good. But I have a hard time spending $70/bottle on anything, but that's the only other time I've seen Rock Hill Farms.

I bought one as a gift last year after trying it and I think it was around $50 then. I haven't priced it in a while.

BTW you're right.......a teaspoon of water tames the flame.

The best I can remember was the last day my wife, my cat Cheetos, and I climbed a mountain up above Morongo Valley California. The view was spectacular, and we made the summit just at sunset. We sat on a ledge and watched the sun disappear when I saw a glint of light 8 feet below me. I dropped down the cliff face and there was a bottle of Old Balvenie. It has a swallow left. It was great. Been looking for it since.

I think I read somewhere it is world whiskey day today. So after some yardwork and running some errands I suppose I could enjoy a sip or 2 of something.
