[quote=shaun341] I thought now how come this guy that went to the NBA right out of high school can speak as if he has a college education but others that went to college sound like they can't read when they open their mouths.

Ask Roy Williams at North Carolina.

If you didn't know he was leaving Cleveland, you were blind to reality.

Thank you, Erik. That was my point, but I didn't want to research all the players.

Mike never even sniffed the finals until he got his help. James got there with scrubs and got whooped by a far better team.

And as far as how he left Cleveland... yeah, it was a little bush league, but lest we all forget it was for money - and ALL that money went to CHARITY. It was with good intentions, but came off smug.

Personally I think if they hadn't have had Jim Gray and had someone who comes off a little bit less smug, self righteous, and self serving do the announcing on " The Decision " it would have played a LOT better. It was a big mistake on his part and he has admitted such. MACS is also right that it raised a **** pot of money for charity which all the Lebron haters conveniently fail to mention.

BTW.....Jim Gray sucks hairy balls.

He quit. Go watch those games. He was already gone.

And yes San Antonio was way better on many levels.

I was in Cleveland when they lost the last game. He quit.

I was a fan of his when he was in Cleveland. I clearly remember the final final game. The cavs were outclassed as a team. But I remember during the game thinking James quit. Went back and watched it again. His heart wasn't in it. He thought they were neat before the game began.

Just watch the fourth quarter. I'm sure it's online.

Go look at the box scores. If anything the whole team quit. He was one of maybe two people on the team that had a + rating for the game. And if he quit how come they still only lost by one?

BTW no one has ever come back from a 0-3 start in the Finals. He was still only 22 and the 2nd best player in the league at the time. He also did not have the luxury of having Dean Smith as his Coach for three years. He has accomplished all that he has with VERY suspect coaching in the league. He now has eclipsed MJ and is in a class of his own as best talent ever (Modern age). Should have had 5 MVP's (Possibly 6) as well. Most will to win ever is debatable being the best or at least top 5 talent wise is not.

I don't need to look at the box score. I've watched and rewatched the game. He quit. I'm sure others on his team quit too but that's not the point. If the point is justifying why he quit I suppose we could talk coaching and 0-3 start etc.

I've said repeatedly he is the best playing now. But he lacks killer instinct. I can't imagine MJ, bird, magic etc quitting under any circumstance. And yes James is good enough to mention in the rarified air like that but to me the difference will always be his lack of killer instinct (consistently) and his ability to quit regardless of rationalization.

I also don't blame him for leaving Cleveland. He probably should have really left before he left though. And then the way he did it was pathetic snd while he has largely repairs his image it will always be a stain.

No doubt he is a great player though.

Oh as for only losing by 1 watch the 4th quarter then tell me he didn't quit.

I'll make it simple. It seems as if when James gets frustrated he pouts or quits. Those other guys get pissed and use it for motivation. Kobe too although he comes off as a spoiled brat at times.

Weird part about James is he sometimes goes prolonged periods when he's not even the best in his own team. Less so as of late but has been there in the past.

Pathetic really????? This is just basketball not real life. Beating your wife is pathetic. Sexually abusing your kids is pathetic. Heck drinking and driving while intoxicated is pathetic too, but leaving a sorry team which had no chance to ever beat the upper echelon teams in the NBA is not pathetic just shows a great will to win.

Does not make him the best. Just makes him the most desperate to win, Lebron and Durant have both passed MJ talentwise.

yes, I found it pathetic. I find your other examples to be worse than pathetic but in the end I'm not really arguing about the definition or use of specific words. that's a nonstarter and tangential to me. just my opinion of course and in the end WGAF about my opinion. Certainly not Lebron.

in the end we are talking about the fringes here. he's a great player with faults. so was MJ. Their faults are different. Pick your poison.

BS Lebron has not surpassed MJ in any way. But I would be interested in hearing why you think this in specifics.

No it's not the only thing that makes him the best. And as I said, I don't blame LeBron for leaving the Cavs. No argument there. I do not think Lebron or especially Durant have passed MJ. I wasn't even really an MJ fan. I always liked Dr. J and Bird. But MJ was something else.

It's an unwinnable argument. It's like the Sanders Emmit thing. The if ifs and buts crowd have sanders as better if in magic land he played behind the Cowboys line. They ignore the different style of running and the philosophy of the team (don't go backwards). Meh. Its a fun conversation.

I don't hate Lebron and he is awesome.

We are talking what is better sex or sex at some point.
