Finally!!! Watching the 2nd half on my phone at first I thought the goalie made a gross save on that last goal.

U.S. stole that one with a perfectly placed corner kick. Klinsmann's choice of Brooks pays off. Wow...bring on Portugal!!!

They better tighten that D around the box vs Portugal even if they are down 2 starters.

That.... Was amazing. Just finished watching it...... On the edge of belief.

Would four points (a draw against Portugal) get us through?

Possibly but I think it would depend on Germany's mood when they play us. It would be by the skin of our teeth if it did.

I thought we looked sloppy. It reminded me of old school USA soccer. Rather than controlling the ball on our own end and methodically moving we just seemed to be kicking the ball away and hoping for the best. It was survival rather than control mode. It was ugly but worked.

The left side of our D looks problematic.

Maybe scoring so early effected things however.

Portugal is a better team than Ghana. Be lucky to steal a point. Not going to get scratch off of Germany.

Agreed. USA was lucky in my opinon to beat Ghana. They were not the better team.

Germany is a machine. Portugal melted down but I suspect they will show up. That said maybe they are a mental mess after that.

USA didn't play well at all. Maybe they bring a better game as well.

Germany can pretty well do what they want to. Maybe if they destroy Ghana they won't gaf about USA or even figure that is the better team to allow through in terms of beatability. What relationship does klinsman have with them now days. to they hate him or still have fellings for him?

Germany will destroy Ghana.

US needs to somehow beat Portugal, or tie at the worst, or everything is up for grabs.

Hopefully Ghana will want to save face, play spoiler, and beat Portugal......that's the best chance for the U.S.

I'm hoping that game is BEFORE the Germany/US game, need to check out the schedule.

US would advance on goal differential if they can manage a draw vs Portugal; Portugal doesn't clobber Ghana by two or more goals; and US somehow holds Germany to less than 4 goals. Seems promising...hope Portugal comes out wimping instead of breathing fire after getting pounded by the German Mannschaft.

If Germany is already through to the knockout round by the time they play the US, they may not bring their A game.
