I'm with you macs. A well placed kick can't be stopped. I never missed one snd I was a defender.

Them again I was never in World Cup lol.

The seem like a rough and maybe dirty team. At a minimum frustrated cause they are gone.

Dude, with a goal that big, the goalie can't cover 1/4 of the real estate. How does one NOT score on a PK?

Looks easy, but three considerations make them much more difficult than they appear:

1) The players have finished 120 minutes plus of a high intensity game, and most are on the verge of cramps...

2) Tremendous psychological pressure: the standing room crowd in the stadium is going nuts and the kicker knows that the whole world is watching

3) World class goalkeepers with long reaches, quick reflexes and studied mind-games...ergo the pre-kick feints. Twelve yards, 36 feet, allows some reaction time.

That being said, a well-kicked penalty shot is unstoppable.

RVP and Robben are amazing. The Dutch are very strong, just watching them is a clinic.

soccer the most boring so called sport there is. Hey you kick the ball down over here then I will kick the ball back to you. every once in awhile they will accidentally kick the ball in the net.

Soccer is like a game of chess with world class athletes being the pieces. They move the ball back and forth to try and develop space between the 22 players on the field. Sometimes they get it in deep and a player can make a run into space and sometimes its just not there and they have to regroup. Like chess one wrong move at any point in the game can determine the outcome. That's the easiest way I can explain it.

On a side note I suck at chess and by the time I hit high school I wasn't athletic enough to keep up with the others on our soccer team but our soccer team was very good.

When Mexico made it through, there were "street celebrations" in a town about five miles from where I live. Although the police closed off a few blocks to allow for the festivities, the crowd refused to be contained and spilled out into adjoining streets. Cars were overturned, shops looted. Took a large contingent of police in riot gear and tear gas to disperse the idiots. Win or lose, there may be more lawlessness after the game...

Used to love the Dutch. Then Robben started diving more than Suarez, and RVP went to United.

Plus, if They win the cup, I'm out a bottle of Makers Mark.

If they get by Mexico, they should stroll through Greece / Costa Rica.

About the only thing you can count on, is if Arjen Robben goes down, there was no foul.

I'd love to see Robben get a red card for flopping. It would be like Christmas Day.
