wtf happened.........

Germany had the mindset to attack, becuase they figured Brazil would think Germany would be defense first...

then the German plan worked beyond their wildest dreams........

Brazil didn't play defense and Germany dominated the midfield. Total destruction. It wasn't an aggressive Germany IMHO. It was almost clinical.

Second half is good if it was only a closer score.

what were you watching?

it is the drugs tdubb - both sides were jogging most of the half

and, you're wrong........Germany did press harder than usual (all previous games) at the outset of this game.....not just my opinion, several analysts stated the same thing.......

but they had no idea the Brazilian defense would be so unorganized... ...and then simply collapse once the third goal was scored........(I think Brazilian players knew they were done for after the second goal was scored)

Brutal for the Brazilian fans.......sad to see the pretty women crying in the stands..........

You'd have to look at what was going on when I typed that. Brazil was playing better for a short while in the second half. They easily could have had a couple goals early. Then it slid again. Did you watch the whole game?

Not sure what analysts you are watching but I've not seen anything conflicting with what I said.

Meh.

The Germans were methodical and clinical. Almost surgical and they destroyed them. It's how they play and Brazil wasn't prepared for it. It looked in some ways like the Portugal game.

My guess is Germany will win BIG. They will prolly be up by at least 5 goals by the 30 minute mark. Who knows what it will be by half.

hellz ya I watched the whole game....

Brazil had three decent chances in the 2nd half..........but against one of the best, if not THE best goalie in the world??....no chance...........but they finally broke thru when it didn't matter.........almost looked like a gift

There was maybe 15 minutes of close to 100% effort played out in the second half.

The German willingness to aggressively press the ball into the box, in the first 20 minutes of a game, was something they didn't do in previous matches.....midfielders were playing 30 to 40 feet up compared to previous matches.

It was the perfect storm.....Germany with outstanding, aggressive one-touch passing, midfield control and solid defending. Brazil down two key players, and horribly exposed as not really elite......at least not this year............which by the way, many of the "experts" have been saying all along, and that was long before Neymar and Silva were out.

I just hope their fans are nice to them in the 3rd place match, should they fall behind in that game as well, which they likely will, because I don't think they can beat Argentina or Netherlands.

I'm not thinking we disagree much we just use different language. I saw them control midfield which allows for more offense and didn't see it as a significant departure from their normal play other than a sloppy Brazil allowed them opportunities and they took it. Lose did start which signaled a desire to score.

Meh.

When I typed my other comment it was a reflection of what was happening on the field in the moment and was echoed by the play by play guys. Unfortunately it didn't hold up.

In the end Germany played German soccer (nothing extremely different) and destroyed an unprepared Brazil.

Brazil owned the first five minutes of each half. The Germans the rest.

The Germans didn't want to leave it to the referees. They took care of that.

The boys from Brazil spent half of their energy shouting their national anthem.

The crowd was like a beautiful meadow of tall, lush grass and yellow flowers, swaying in the Spring breeze. All very beautiful to see. Then, the the lawn mower of German steel blades started rotating.

Mulch.
