Yes...you should.

There's a part of me that really misses the old Tiger Stadium...seeing the infield walking in...it was like going to church to me. Comerica Field? It's a cold mausoleum to me. to rip down an institution to build what they did...didn't make sense...Yankee Stadium...that did make sense. Watching the Dodgers in the outfield...under the palm trees...no bleachers seats...just grass...that's something I'll NEVER forget.

GO...before they rip them down. You can thank me later. FWIW...a seat to watch the Red Sox is worth every penny. They have devoted fans!

oooh, that right field overhanging upper deck in Tiger Stadium (Briggs for awhile?)...scary for Sox fans when the likes of Norm Cash, Gates Brown et al stepped to the plate!

lots of folks (here) knock Boston, many in jest to playfully provoke. Hey, I would do the same. But so many simply have no way of understanding the greatness of a team's fans cheering the opposing pitcher for a tremendous athletic performance.

They bang out the old ball yard game after game, good seasons and bad. The scenario Fiddler described above has been an oft repeated display of the greatness of Boston fans, who may have set the standard when the sold-out Boston Garden crowd stood and chanted as one "Beat L.A." in praise of the Philly 76ers who were about to eliminate their beloved Celtics.

Sure, there has been the odd cretin tossing batteries at players, no different than any other town (though probably far less frequent), but in general...we gots da best.

It's just too bad you don't have something akin to Fenway or Wrigley.

I've never been to MSG but would imagine it carries it's own aura.

I'd like to go to Fenway.

Take the subway. Avoid the red line and you are good to go.

Thanks, DMV. The old Kingdome in Seattle was a mausoleum, as was Candlestick Park in SF. Glad they were replaced with better stadiums to experience a ballgame. Those franchises got it right. Too bad the Tigers didn't have the vision to build a place that matches their game.

Petco park, in San Diego, is a very nice park with nary a bad seat in the house.

Even so, I must have ADD because by the 5th inning, I had to go I was so bored.

why do I seem to think the Pilots (pre Milwaukee Brewers) played at something like Sicks Stadium? Or a name like that, named for a local beer maybe?

Damm, frank, amazing memory. Pilots did play at Sicks, but for only a little while, before they folded. Kingdome was built as part of the plan to lure a pro baseball team back to that area. Mariners were born when the dome was finished, and the Seahawks arrived a while later. At the time, several ill-fated multi-purpose stadiums were launched. These monstrosities included Fulton County, Riverfront, Veterans (Philadelphia), Three Rivers and Busch, none of which had much ambiance.

Although TG knows my feelings for all Boston/New England teams, I will admit to a few things. Fenway is a great ball park. Having been to Fenway on several occasions, many with my daughter, we have always been treated good with the good natured busting that goes with it.
