So who is this Elmer T Lee everyone is raving about???
I've found a place, so I'll soon find out. I hope I'm not disappointed.

Jealous!

You should be! This place is awesome. I ate dinner in a restaurant and right in front of me is a bar full of every kind of bourbon you can think of, including multiple bottles of each year of Pappy.

had the white whiskey/bourbon, not a profile I seek but some may love it. Way strong corn liquor taste and smell IIRC.
I like the story though, couple of guys found old equipment in a barn on family farm in Sudbury or some other MA town that their grandfather or great grandfather used to make legal booze. Blah blah blah...

Thanks for the info. I am not really big on the corn whiskey myself but I am gonna give this one a taste just because. Just finished a growler from Idle Hands Craft Ales the other day and it was a good beer. I hear there are lots of breweries in close range there.

No kidding. I'm hitting up a couple distilleries on Friday and a couple more shpos tonight. I'm hoping to find some HTF stuff before I shell out my arm and leg for one drink.

So far I've found Elmer T Lee, Willett Family Reserve is everywhere here. I'm hoping to find Weller 12, Pappy has to be somewhere, and maybe some other distillery exclusives.

Haven't had a drink for 3 days due to the ankle surgery, so this thread is like looking at porn.

Idle Hands is just outside of Boston in Everett, also Night Shift is there. But there really are a bunch concentrated within a 20 mile radius of the city. Some are more daring, some stay close to the norm. There's one about five miles from me (Blue Hills Brewery) that is not a big risk taker but makes some good stuff. Had a chocolate porter from them last night.

Sorry, I know I stretched this out on the wrong forum. Maybe you'll like the whiskey.

The Dalmore 12
the more I have the more I think it is a good intro to Highland scotch, but not worth a near premium price. there are better and more complex than this for less, that said I like this and it is very drinkable.

This was my first scotch, a gift I thoroughly enjoyed. 1st bottle I bought was around $40. Went to get one as a gift recently & it had climbed above $60.
