Don't forget the cost to detain, adjudicate and deport to pesky illegals. I'm certain you will need to at least another zero to the boder patrol wages amount to pay for the construction of jails to house those 5-7 million people you plan to depart. My guess is they will be incarcerated for many years until host countries will take them back. IIRC it costs about $25-30 per day to house a federal inmate.

Let me sharpen my pencil.

On the low side, 5,000,000 illegals @ $25 per day x 365 days = $42,626,000,000.
On the high side, 7,000,000 illegals @ $30 per day x 365 days = $76,650,000,000.

Oops, we've calculated the cost to secure the borders and detain the the illegals already here. But, we still need to round up the ones already here so we can detain them.

Let's be ambitious and say that each federal marshal tasked with tracking these fugitives can bring in 5 per shift. Not counting sick and vacation days, he'll net about 812 per year. I'm assuming we will want all these folks rounded up within a year. To do so will require about 7500 additional US Marshalls.

The average US Marshall makes $68,000 per year x 7500 = $510,000,000.

The Federal bureau of Prisons currently houses around 2220,000 prisoners. Gotta expand to make room. Beginning in 2001, BOP contracted for 13 new prisons with a total of 14,848 beds. The total contracted cost is/was $1,600,000,000 (http://www.justice.gov/oig/reports/BOP/a0232/final.pdf). As such, based on 2001 $'s it would cost $107,758 per bed to build these new prisons we need to house all these illegals we are going to pick up and deport. For those 6,000,000 beds we need to allocate around $646,551,724,137 in 2001 dollars. Let's adjust for inflation and round it up to $750,000,000,000.


Let's add up the costs:
Border Patrol Agents - $16,000,000,000
U.S. Marshalls - $510,000,000
Detention - $60,000,000,000
New Prison Construction - $750,000,000,000

Total $826,510,000,000 to build new jails and operate the program for one year.

BTW, on September 29, 2008 the House passed their version of was to become the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. On October 1, 2008 the Senate passed a revised version. On October 3, 2008 the House voted for the revised Senate version. George W. Bush signed the bill into law on the same day the House passed the Senate version of the bill. Among other things it provided $700B in bailout money.

Are you as upset with Bush because he spent so much bailout money?

And the pilgrims pretty much broke every "law" that the indigenous tribes had by killing, enslaving and driving them off their lands. The pilgrims were the first illegals that invaded this country. Read up on the history of the Pequot Indians and Mystic massacre during the Pequot War that pretty much reduced the New England tribe to slaves or house servants.
