If it isn't about race, a business owner should be able to refuse any customer, do we want to force;

A publisher to print books for NAMBLA or even porn

A gun dealer to sell guns to skin heads, religious nuts

A liquor store to sell to a drunk person

Lawmakers Defend Chaplain Accused of Anti-Gay Discrimination

Now that a rampaging mob of liberals has bullied the state of Indiana into submission, I want to direct your attention to what they're trying to do to a Navy Chaplain.

Wes Modder is a 19-year veteran of the military based at an officer's training school in South Carolina. This man once ministered to our Navy SEALs. But now he is facing what could be the end of his highly decorated military career.

A gay officer filed a complaint against Chaplain Modder, accusing him of failing to show tolerance and respect in private counseling sessions. The officer was specifically upset about Modder's Christian beliefs.

Chaplain Modder is endorsed by the Assemblies of God, a denomination that believes premarital sex is a sin, as well as homosexual behavior. The officer took offense and accused Modder of discrimination.

Now Congress is getting involved. Nearly three dozen lawmakers sent a letter to the Secretary of the Navy demanding answers. I have an exclusive copy of that letter.

The lawmakers point out that the Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Convention hold the same beliefs on marriage and homosexuality that the Assemblies of God hold, writing this:

"It is dangerous to fall prey to the fundamentally false proposition that individuals who support natural marriage can only be motivated by animus for others."

The Navy seems to regard chaplains as glorified summer camp counselors, dispensing secular platitudes and lollipops. Folks, this smells like a set-up. Why else would a gay officer who's married to another man seek out an evangelical chaplain for advice?

It seems to me if you take offense at the counsel of a Christian chaplain, don't go to a Christian chaplain.

Folks that believe in an invisible deity (or plural in some cases) and they discriminate their fellow human beings based on those beliefs are just idiots. Plain and simple.

Talk about confusing......how on one hand can you feel SO strongly about Gov. staying out of business owners ability to run their business as they see fit AND still be disappointed in our Governor for giving business owners the ability to enjoy some form of protection against being forced out of business by those who are forcing their world view on others????

Drafter, your post is interesting, buy we are talking apples and oranges.

The Indiana law allows businesses to use it against civil rights suits brought by individuals, or at least how I interpret the law.

Your post relates to the free exercise of religion. This is a first amendment issue where congressional intervention is against the law, or at least that is how I interpret the 1st amendment.

Seriously... when someone states that there is no proof of something's existence, and you acknowledge that... to come back with "but you can't prove it doesn't exist" is not in any way an equivalent argument. You have to realize that... right? I mean, if you don't, I have to ask who ties your shoes....

By that logic everything (and I mean literally everything) which any person can imagine (man-bear-pig anyone?) has equal potential for existence, and equal relevance in your eyes.
