I never defended the amount of money Bush spent going to Crawford.....even the WH press Corp talked about him working at Crawford and they weren't exactly big Bush supporters. How many big trips did George and Laura take in separate AF 1-2 planes with extra "guests"?

I'm not splitting hairs here I think it's reasonable to see the difference between the two and why some who are much more partisan that I are worked up about.

They're both part of the machine IMO.

Your whole post about the muslim in chief concerned how much he was spending on travel.
That's what led to my post, Bush was on vacation nearly 1/3 of his presidency, he probably spent much more that any other President on travel,(including Obama).
Yet I don't remember leftists ranting about how much the II spent on travel, I don't remember any Pres being criticized for this.

He WORKED out of Crawford, people generally don't STAY-cation when they're wealthy.

He quit playing golf when he took us to a war that wasn't fully declared because of the optics. I think that's where you and I are differing.....

The optics (right or wrong) of a CIC golfing and staying at fancy places when we're still at (an undeclared war) and the economy is schitty.....compared to staying at your HOME and working from there.

Interesting that the Crawford ranch went up for sale right after he left office, making it seem to be nothing more than a prop for him.
