Sadly the Republican Party today resembles very little the same party when Reagan was President. Likewise the Democratic Party of yesteryear.

Again, I totally disagree.

Explain how he would be considered a RINO today?
He HAD to work with Tip for Brains because the congress was massively Dem. Nothing is going to get passed as far as his tax cut plans if he doesn't try and work with that boob. My memory is long (that's what she said!) and I don't give him a pass on immigration, in fact it was one of the things about his presidency he regretted. He was lied to by congress. The deal was, I give you amnesty, you enforce immigration laws and secure and fence the border. The immigration part was passed, and then the "other part" was not followed through upon.

Reagan would be like Ted Cruz today. He wouldn't get elected to be Governor in CA. today, that is for certain, because CA is wayyyy too left.

But the Dems in the congress when Reagan was there were VASTLY different then Dems today. Every time that the left says that republicans aren't compromising, they mean that republicans aren't moving left. The dems Never move toward the right . So why would I as a constitutional conservative want the republicans to work with radical statists that will do any end around the Constitution they can find to justify getting their means accomplished? Hell, as much as I didn't like Bill Clinton, at least he listened to ****** Morris and moved right and passed bills with Gingrich so he could be re elected.

That is NOT going to happen with todays extreme left wing democrats and their party is overwhelmed by them. Zel Miller was the last Democrat that was actually a logical thinking democrat, not a "party first, party always" hack like they are now.

You are saying that rocked ribbed conservatives are cherry picking Reagan plusses and are just a little too thick to realize that he would not pass the smell test today.

And I say that is completely incorrect.

You got the part right about the Democrats, but you are woefully wrong about the Republicans.

The reality is that without compromise nothing will get passed unless one party can control both house of Congress and the Presidency unless they can craft a strategic plan to make the other party appear to be obstructionists and force them to capitulate or be blamed for whatever is the detrimental result of such a stance. In that respect, the democrats have been winning for sometime.

I quit at Reagan like Ted Cruz. We will just have to disagree. I have such respect for Reagan that it's not really worth arguing about.

It's too bad that the pubs from the get go decided to obstruct Obama at every turn.

2009 - As Michael Grunwald reported, these two ideas coalesced into a Republican plan on how to respond to the election of President Barack Obama.

…the Republican plot to obstruct President Obama before he even took office, including secret meetings led by House GOP whip Eric Cantor (in December 2008) and Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (in early January 2009) in which they laid out their daring (though cynical and political) no-honeymoon strategy of all-out resistance to a popular President-elect during an economic emergency. “If he was for it,” former Ohio Senator George Voinovich explained, “we had to be against it.”

I don't mind obstruction.... it keeps one side from steamrolling the other and generally ends up in the right place. But it can go to far and some of the self serving carnival barkers that are practicing now will be flash in the pans in the near future. If they are remembered by history it will not be in a positive light.

I am all for obstructing a president who wants to "fundamentally transform America."
What has he done that republicans should be on board with? Even the RINOS have major problems with him.

You don't fundamentally want to transform something you respect, and or love. Obama dislikes America and it is time for our comeuppance in his view.

How many guys are gonna say to their wives.."hey, I want to fundamentally transform our marriage," and not end up in the dog house for months.?

I don't want the federal government to just "get things done" if getting things done costs me my liberty and disregards the Constitution. So as Rush once put it, " I hope Obama fails."

Because for him to succeed is to the detriment of the U.S.A. - which is now in a post Constitutional period.

Obama has done more good for this country than any other president in our life time – I know you know it. Don’t believe that he hates this country – that is just the crap the crazy right spews because they have no real arguments with the success he has enjoyed or the good he has done. Remember he’s the one with the Nobel Prize and it’s the jealous conservatives pushing the lies about his religion, his birth, his intentions.

We do need to have some sympathy for the man, what with the mess Bush left. But that’s what happens when people by GOP line. “trickle-down economics”, no wonder Obama has so much work to do…

Love it.. back to Bush's fault. You lefties are so predictable! When does Obama take responsibility for his failed agenda?
Sympathy? Might as well have sympathy for the leaders in Russia when Reagan brought it down.

No, I don't know it. In fact I know the opposite is true that he is the worst president in the last 100 years, probably in our history. Carter is jumping up and down as he has taken that title from him.

You HAVE to be a democrat drone to believe the tripe you are spewing.

Lets have some examples of Der Leader's great achievements from you, since he is the best president, according to you and every big statist hack.

And BTW.. he won the Nobel Peace Prize because of what he was going to do, or was there some great achievement that proceeded that award? The N.P.P. was also given to Yassir Arrafat ( however you spell that terrorist's name).

So the Nobel P.P. is an utter joke. He did create Obamunism in our country, I will give you that.

Lets go, list the good he has done I have a shovel ready for what you are going to spew.

Pubs are so desperate for a past president to look up to from their own party that the brainwashed themselves into thinking Reagan was good. Even when Reagan knew what he has doing, he was bad. The schedules at and away from the white house were subject to change by astrologist. Wake up - you have to go back to Eisenhower for a good pub president (and he would be too liberal to get the nomination today).

Ummm... you do realize that they now regret and think it was a mistake to give the big O the Nobel Prize. He never fulfilled the expectations that went with giving him the award.
