Leviticus 20:27 ESV / 6 helpful votes

“A man or a woman who is a medium or a necromancer shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones; their blood shall be upon them.”

Well that took 2 seconds.

Deuteronomy 13:10 ESV / 4 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful

You shall stone him to death with stones, because he sought to draw you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

3 seconds..
Looks like the bible advocates stoning anyone who follows a different idol.

..yes, and as I said, Christians aren't stoning people, thank you for making my point. You are quoting Biblical text from around 1400BC ..Christianity wasn't around then now, was it?

So, your straw man here, is that some candidate is suggesting following the entire Bible, chapter and verse?
Again, YOUR straw man.

Nobody has suggested that.

DR. Madd, are you just voting for Bernie, because of your dismal voting record from last time. Or because you hope like all the others you endorsed, they turned out to be a ham sammich.

Voting for him because I did my homework. Even changed my party affiliation to do so too. 1st time I've ever been a registered Democrat. I now know exactly how Reagan felt switching sides. "I didn't change, the party did!"

Sanders is the only one with a clear and consistent voting record. All of the GOP nominees are insane, bat**** crazy, have so much baggage they're unelectable, religious zealots or combinations of them all!

It's comical to watch Trump stomp a mudhole in the GOP and walk it dry. He's untouchable.

Omg, I voted for Reagan the first time and lived to regret it. Hope that doesn't happen to you. If you take the label off of Bernie, I like the direction he is headed, that in and of itself should scare you Doc.

No I'm not. I won't take your schtick and that's a fact!

You didn't spell out a thing. Where are they stoning people

Run, walk...lolligag...I choose my own speed you don't. Now, you? You listen to voices in your head. Those are telling you things that aren't true. You keep on listening to them and running your mouth too. Perhaps you should stop, seek help for mental illnesses and get on some medicine to stop acting like a big jerk.

That is why you embrace Bernie

I embrace Bernie's message wholeheartedly...there isn't some or this and some of that nitpicking you have to do with St.Ted or the rest of the GOP field. All you have is the same the rest of the unintelligent drones have..."He's a socialist" you're stuck in the mud spinning your wheels and ignoring the rest of the message he has. Which GOP candidate is going after Wall Street? NONE. Which one wants to end the wars? NONE. Which one wants government to work for all Americans? NONE. So when you get your nose out of the Bible try to feed your mind as well.

You putting up straw men, just to knock them down, doesn't make your point. I see Obama's tactics may be rubbing off on you, but I am not buying it.

Where did I say that we should vote for a Christian, just because?

Where did I state that "this one guy was this religion, therefore they ALL must be and we should ALL run our country following EVERY passage in that bible"?

I said it is a good thing that Lincoln AND the framers didn't share your non beliefs. That is also, more than one man.

teddyballgame wrote:

These aren't strawman arguments. They are mocking your logic intentionally.

Lincoln being christian and reading the bible has nothing to do with the quality of cruz, rubio or any other contemporary politician. similarly, the founding fathers being christian has nothing to do with our laws, because they very specifically did not include their religion in our laws. To include it simply because they were christian is no more significant than stating that george washington wore a wig, therefore we should only vote for politicians who wear wigs. YOU attribute significance to it, because in your mind you're filling in some gaps that you have no facts about. The significance of their religion is a fantasy you've created in your head to justify your decisions.

Um... open a bible. Is the old testament in it? If so, it's part of your religion. I'm not making a strawman argument, you simply don't understand. I don't need a candidate to say they want to follow the entire bible. I just need a candidate to say they are relying on the bible when making a political decision once. Once they use that faulty logic once, there is zero reassurance they won't use it again with any other passage in the entire book. And someone who votes for a candidate because that's their decision making process is just as dangerous. These are people who want a christian sharia law, and think it's a good idea.

The old testimant changes dramatically with Jesus as the conduiate and the new testimant modifies some things. Christianity grew out of the old testimant in a sense. Islam grew out of that but that makes people's heads splode.
