Lincoln being christian and reading the bible has nothing to do with the quality of cruz, rubio or any other contemporary politician. similarly, the founding fathers being christian has nothing to do with our laws, because they very specifically did not include their religion in our laws. To include it simply because they were christian is no more significant than stating that george washington wore a wig, therefore we should only vote for politicians who wear wigs. YOU attribute significance to it, because in your mind you're filling in some gaps that you have no facts about. The significance of their religion is a fantasy you've created in your head to justify your decisions.
