And he cowrote a lovely soundtrack for an Australian Jesse James movie...I think I listed it here not long ago.

I'll have to get my hands on Grinderman.

He wrote the whole damned movie! 🙂 He also wrote Lawless and one or two other films.

His work with Warren Ellis is wonderful. Warren is a big part of Grinderman, on top of being in the Bad Seeds and Cave's partner on the Soundtrack work. Pick up White Lunar if you're into the James movie's music. That's a double album of songs from many of their projects.

I love Nick Cave's music way too much. Got hooked when I was about nine and it totally screwed up my formative years.

In my head while riding the motorcycle to work/base: Dwight Yoakam

In the base gym: Whatever the radio station the staff picked was playing. Fortunately today it was a rock station. Inhales forcibly lifting or doing bicycle intervals to Rihanna/Beyoncé/Miley Cyrus. Ugh

About to get some more Zep/Cult etc. going for some boring work

Luau Music, Disc 1

A compilation of Hawaiian music through the years starting with the famous counch shell from the old Webley Edwards "Hawaii Calls" show. Lots of hapa-haole songs in the first half but eventually Disc 1 ends with Auntie Genoa Keawe's classic "Alika." This works exceedingly well on a Sunday morning with an R44 and a cup of coffee.

This Too Shall Pass and Stained Glass are some of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. The whole record is lovely.
