Ummm if the officers were getting shot, that means the protesters (with or without the guns) were also down range of the shooter. Are you suggesting they had some psychic connection and knew the shooter was just targeting the Leo's? Cut that's silly.

No but regardless....one would think if they ( the ones who DID bring guns ) began to fire @ the suspect then it would have been pretty clear who they supported....YES??

Yes. But that doesn't make your statement true.

The guys who open carried at the Dallas protest IMMEDIATELY handed their weapons over to police when shooting began and ASKED IF THEY COULD HELP. But that doesn't fit a race war, so let's not report that.......

Brewha the guy was sniping from a protected position. He could have used a .22 and it wouldn't have made much difference.

B. Mockery? Are you suggesting open carry should be limited for gatherings or protests? I'm ok with that but many in here will not be, at least if they agree with the protesters. We do have selective minds in here (including mine) that try really hard to pretend they are not. Aren't guns allowed at the RNC convention? That's a gathering.

The fact that anyone could carry a long gun anywhere made it somewhat normal. The shooter could just walk around barely noticed until ready to fire. I'm po gun, but personally I prefer concealed to open carry. Nothing really political in my view, I just prefer not to advertise.

While being pro gun I do think the NRA is digging its own grave. Something about their approach reminds me of the pro smoking folks in the 80s. They have the upper hand for the moment, over play it at times, are about to get cornered, and the anti gun nazis will win. I hope I'm wrong.

Mockery, with ironic overtones.

In the '70's I saw an episode of All In The Family where Archie suggested that hijacking should be stopped by arming all the passengers. It was a joke back then.

Now people really buy into "guns make us safe" mentality. And while there is some truth to it, folks are taking a ridiculous tact on this. Courtrooms aren't safe because the are gun free zones, your children are only safe if their teacher is armed, we only gave gun safety is everyone is armed....

But then again, "if you make dynamite illegal, only criminal will have dynamite"

True....however they were there to PROTEST LE treatment ( in other states ) that had ZERO to do with anything happening in theirs. It's a shame thatthe message is lost when they allow it to be about nothing other than skin color. Did you really think those in that crowd were going to come to the aide of the LEO's???? lolz
Think Black Panthers @ our election boothes in Philly in 08...if that incident had been a bunch of White dudes toting guns and intimidating others....they'd have been arrested and RIGHTFULLY SO, but since they shared skin pigment with our POTUS....it just kinda " went away " didn't it? Never to be heard about again....

And.... if what you said is true.....why wasn't he trying to kill those responsible for MAKING LAW....not the ones tasked with carrying them out???? #-o

Because he was mad the they were NOT carrying out the law...

It's got absolutely nothing to do with gun control laws, it was about controlling possession of a gun by a bailiff that was outmatched by a prisoner attempting to break out of jail. There was a similar situation in an Atlanta, GA courtroom a few years ago except the bailiff was a woman.

Bailey identified the bailiffs who were killed as Joseph Zangaro, 61, and Ron Kienzle, 63.

Only an idiot would show up at a PROTEST carrying a long gun...only morons with screws loose would tawnt law enforcement like that...

Reminds me of a gun PROTEST on the capital steps at Harrisburg PA....years back?? 3???
Two guys on the front page of the newspaper carrying M-16's with 30 shot banana clips posing on the capital steps dressed in tactical gear and cammo....
( this was during the beginning of my GANGSTALKING PERSECUTION...I THOUGHT TO MYSELF...I have done nothing wrong and you stupid *****s are following me??? WHY NOT FOLLOW THE TWO NUT JOBS IN THE PHOTO and leave me alone you coward idiots)

If I was a cop and " drew duty " to cover such a travesty gathering.... And a potential deadly riot...

I WOULD AVOID THAT LIKE THE PLAGUE
AND CALL IN SICK THAT DAY..
IT WAS a "LOSE- LOSE DUTY" FROM THE GET-go..

I get the sense the cops and protesters worked together with no issue. The cops didn't seem to be wearing tactical gear etc and both sides were cooperating with each other. This marks sense given what I've seen of the police chief since.
