Broadening my horizons thanks to Strikeanywhere

Alison Krauss - Windy City

Never listened to her before, got a slight Dolly Parton twang / vibrato on a couple of cuts.

Alison Krauss has the voice of an angel.
...and plays a mean fiddle, her roots being in bluegrass.

Try to find some of her early stuff with Union Station.
Her cover tunes are kinda hit or miss and that has limited her popularity in the mainstream.
I have not listened to Windy City yet.

A couple favorites..

Oh, nearly forgot, Alison has an excellent, simple cornbread recipe that I've used for years....

Listened to two old albums while driving last night. I was pretty bullish on both for a long time. One has aged well...the younger one not so much....

STP - Core. I was trying real hard to recall what I liked about this album. I even remember thinking that Plush was one of the greatest songs of the era. Most of the album is barely listenable now....Meh....

Michael Schenker Group - MSG -- Not as good as when it first came out, but it has stood the test of 36 years pretty well. I suppose a screaming flying V played by one of the true greats might have some sort of eternal quality that can't be undone by time

After some Link Wray:

Box Scaggs - Moments

"We Were Always Sweethearts" is so infectious, can't help but tap your toes to it.

Paul Kossoff - Back Street Crawler (Deluxe Edition)

Such a talent (...but dead by 25...).

I remember when I first heard this album back in '73. Couple buddies and I went into a clothing / head shop and they had just put this on when we walked into the place. We ended up buying all 3 copies that they had. It was an import album so we paid a pretty penny for them. Still, "Tuesday Morning" is a great jam song.

72 F / 65% RH / 6 mph - another nice day but rain expected tomorrow or Friday.
