That was a classic in the worst way. Remember the blue nun, and Paul Mason commercials? I loved the mason commercial that said we will sell no wine before it's paid for. It was a take off from we will sell no wine before it's time, but I don't remember who did that one.

Without looking through the entire post here, has anyone had a " mixed red " from Chile called Siegel 1234 Red Blend ? The write up on it sounds decent and it is rated @ 90

Siegel 1234 Red Blend..... From the site:

This juicy red screams, Light the Grill! Another steal you shouldn’t miss. Hard to find a 90 pt. rated wine for less than $8.50!! A nose of black currant, smoke, violet, and black olives entice you into the glass; dark fruit, nice tannins, a hint of smoke…..and juicy, juicy, juicy! Another sip and you’ll be looking for the Brisket and Baby Backs!

I'm thinking about giving it a whirl but thought I'd ask the connoiseurs first 🌫

UPDATE

Thanks to Allen ( Speyside ) for replying, gonna give it a shot.

2010 Concannon Petite Syrah. A gift from long ago that I rediscovered in our "cellar" and, when young, at least, not particularly good. 7 years has made a huge difference. I know PS is a varietal that stands up to time, but I figured an inexpensive brand would have been a waste. I was wrong. Very nice.

Beringer Dry Rose.

It's a new product not in stores yet, in the Sip anyway. I have a few sample bottles. I was pleased at how good it is. I'd still call it sweet but it was balanced.

Not sure if this belongs here but since it's a brandy thought it'd be closer to wine than beer, rum, sake or whiskey:

Boulard Calavados Pays d'Auge

Forgive me if I have erred.

Paolo Scavino 2014 Dolcetto d'Alba

Wine Enthusiast review which I found spot on.

Simple and delicious, this vibrant, mouthwatering red doles out fleshy black cherry, crushed blueberry, ground pepper and clove alongside polished tannins. An almond note graces the finish. This makes a fantastic everyday wine.
