Concert for Bangladesh

Tonight may be the first time I've ever listened to the entire album in one sitting (...other than watching the movie when it first came out...).

I haven't given this album a thought since the mid 70's.........a lot of good stuff on there.......I forgot all about Leon Russell's version of Youngblood and Billy Preston.......and Bob Dylan's "It Takes a Train".......I'm gonna have to fire up the turntable and give this a full workout.......Thanks for the walk down memory lane. 🍺 =d>

A major reason why i really love his solo work over the other 3. He delivered solid music each album.

Ringo really tries hard and is a very close 2nd.

John spread his wings but songs like Imagine just sound like open suckbtpnme.

Paul? What a load of crap his solo work is. So disappointing.

I'm going out on a limb and say that because it was sooo close to the Beatles breakup that some of these were in notebooks waiting to become Beatles songs.

The further away from the breakup...the bigger the suck is for me. Not saying he can't write a great song...just hasn't had a great album...to my ears at least.

For some odd reason, I like the first solo album the best. Maybe because he plays all the instruments, maybe because I bought it for $3.37 and thought that was a deal 'cause the regular going price was around $3.99. Hey, $0.62 was a decent amount of money back then! I could catch the bus twice and buy a comic book with that money. 🌫

JJ Cale - Naturally

The perfect album to layback with out in the garage.

Thanks. Never heard...not bad. Technically, very sound. A bit too loose and raw for me, but they have a lot of promise...I can hear Queensryche, Metallica, Perfect Circle...they need a singer and a producer....I'll be keeping an ear out

I liken them to an early version of Yes...not as good but trying. Yes, they need production help. I still enjoyed where it went.

ZZ Top - a comp CD made up of favorites from their first 6 albums (...heavy on Tres Hombres...).

Saw them only once when they opened for the Stones in '73. Great set, played for almost an hour, including their encore but man, were they hot!

79 F / 64% RH / 13 mph - hot and humid during the day, light showers tonight to cool things down
