He makes an interesting point.
Do you know what law is broken by being in the country without a visa/green card? And whether it's a felony or misdemeanor? Cuz I dont...

You said Democrats should own the Schumer Shutdown. I and most don't see it that way.
Donald baited and switched on them.
Don wanted and now he's got his wished-for shutdown.
Republicans control the Congress and White House. But the Dems are too blame?

You could also care less if approximately 800,000 people are freaking deported in March?

It's not a game. Donald says no DACA without his wall and that's not shady.
But this is?

Unlawful presence is neither a felony nor a misdemeanor, said Ilya Shapiro, a senior fellow in constitutional studies at the libertarian Cato Institute. It is a civil infraction that results in removal and a bar on re-entry for a certain period of time.

"If my parents rob a bank to give me a better life, shouldn't I get to keep the money?" <<< Not a great argument.

BUT sending away the "Dreamers" will cost our economy a couple hundred billion. Republicans won't do it and I wouldn't either. That is why Dems should've held out longer, but I guess they never miss a chance to bend the knee...😎

Edit: "ending DACA — and deporting the workers who will no longer enjoy legal status — could reduce the size of the U.S. economy by anywhere from $280 billion to $430 billion over the next decade." -Cato Institute

Corporations don't want this ^^^. Both sides answer to corporations for the most part. DACA will stay.

Are you smoking the same stuff as Huck?
Civil crime is a CRIME against a person or people, no?
Criminal law violation is crime against the state in violation of written and duly passed laws....if I recall my HS civics after 40 years.

So violation of US Title Code (with specified lock-up time included in text of law) would be crime against the state, no?

Are you trying to equate illegally entering a foreign country with slander?

Hey... I'm still trying to figure it out. Prolly need one of the law type guys to tell us what this is.

I can't find any indication of felony or misdemeanor, just the definition as a civil crime... I don't even know who would be the plaintiff.

Here are the guidelines for classification of federal crimes. As in most states, crimes are classified by the punishment that is associated with it: one or more years in prison = felony; less than year in jail = misdemeanor; no jail time = infraction...in general...

(a)Classification.—An offense that is not specifically classified by a letter grade in the section defining it, is classified if the maximum term of imprisonment authorized is—
(1) life imprisonment, or if the maximum penalty is death, as a Class A felony;
(2) twenty-five years or more, as a Class B felony;
(3) less than twenty-five years but ten or more years, as a Class C felony;
(4) less than ten years but five or more years, as a Class D felony;
(5) less than five years but more than one year, as a Class E felony;
(6) one year or less but more than six months, as a Class A misdemeanor;
(7) six months or less but more than thirty days, as a Class B misdemeanor;
(8) thirty days or less but more than five days, as a Class C misdemeanor; or
(9) five days or less, or if no imprisonment is authorized, as an infraction.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/3559

so immigration violations are generally infractions, the least serious sort of crime, as far as punishment, unless repetition is involved...

infractions in CA are mostly traffic violations, some minor MJ possessions crimes, trespassing, disturbing the peace, drunk and disorderly and minor shoplifting/theft
