Actually I had seen it many times and laughed it off........like the cigar. Then one day it popped up when I googling some Heaven Hill releases, that made it a must try.Glad I did, priced right, drinks more like a $30 bottle than a $17 bottle. Not to mention when I bring up Fighting K0cks with ZRX he laughs uncontrollably and starts talking about some shower he took in Vegas.I swear I was not there.

I haven't cracked the bottle yet. I've had it before, though, and as I recall... I liked it a lot.

Edit:

Alright, I poured myself a little. My memory served me right, it's a very good scotch. It's got a sherried sweetness, typical of the speyside, very slight oaky note, taste kind of lingers but it's pleasant. I'm surprised you haven't tried this... your moniker is speyside, afterall.

For the money... I think the Macallan 12 or the Balvenie Doublewood 12 at mid 40's are a better deal. It's better, for sure... but probably not 30 dollars better.

I have had the Balvenie Doublewood 17, though... and at $158, it's worth the extra coin. I should have sprung for that one.

Edit #2:

Perhaps it is worth the extra $30. Damn. This is really good. And I'm not quite drunk.

Edit #3:

It's worth the extra $30. Smooth as fkn butter. No burn, slight spiciness, the oakiness is what lingers, but it's pleasant. IIRC I smoked an Opus X with this, and the raisin notes complemented the drink.

Jesus... it's amazing what an old mind can recall when you splash it with a little booze!

$17. 103 proof.

this is dangerous stuff, not for beginners.

as I always do first time out, tried it neat, wouldn't do that by volume, but the definitive bourbon "sweet" was there, encouraging me to play with it.

kept adding drips of water, very difficult to tame, and then realized it shouldn't be too tame.

would have been easy to dismiss it as just very hot, but that would have been missing that it's actually very spicy, in my opinion.

got it to where the beautiful sweetness of bourbon was up front and the spice owned the finish, and I liked that, in that order. Long legs for sure, and it hangs on the inside of the glass forever.

A real bargain for anyone who has exceeded the Government Recommended Amount of Bourbon (GRAB) for one lifetime.

ZRX is so immatoor.

That was neat, brother. I never bothered to add a drop or two of water. Might be a whole new experience. I was enjoying it straight, though.
