Doobie Brothers - a comp of favorites and hits from 1972 to 1978

Prefer the Tom Johnston years but they sure cranked out a bunch of hits with Michael McDonald.

Roomful of Blues - Under One Roof

Love the tune "Switchin' In The Kitchen". Cover of a Big Joe Turner tune.

If your feet aren't tappin' on this one.......you may be dead and just don't know it yet.

I grew up in the Brockton Mass area, in the late 70's we used to go to this small bar all the time.....Roomful of Blues was like the house band, they played there all the time, a couple times a month......it was a $3 cover charge and worth every penny! They were like an 8-10 pc band with all the horns, piano, harmonicas, and Duke Robillard was the guitar player.......they always had us up dancing and having a good old time.........Good Times, thanks for the memories🍺

I've seen them here in Pittsburgh, four times. Excellent Horn Section (World Class!!!). They've had three different Lead Vocalists in those shows. My favorite is Sugar Ray Norcia (who is featured on "Switchin' in the Kitchen").

The East Bridgewater Commercial Club......used to be like a sort of Social Club back in the day.......held a lot of biker events there......Chowda' Fest, Chili Fest......They used to do a Spring Fling and a Fall Ball, both of which were basically big outdoor keggers with live music all day, about 4-5 bands during the course of the day.......it was $5 if I remember right, all you could drink and the music. They had food too,but I can't remember if that was included in the $5, but I wasn't there to eat 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 ......I can't drink like that anymore, but back then I was thinking about going pro🌫

It was still there 8 or so years ago.......I went to a Chili/Chowdah Fest Biker Bash 🍺 .......good time

I go tp a blues festival every year in NH's White Mountains, The White Mountain Boogie and Blues Festival, which is coming up the weekend of August 17-19 2018, if anyone is interested in a great day or weekend of the blues.

Anyway, Here is Anthony Geraci and the Boston Blues Allstars, with Sugar Ray on harmonica, playing at the 2016 Boogie-

Roomful of Blues played the Boogie in 2003----https://youtu.be/yVBDdu7H0hY

Yup, the group during the MM years didn't remotely resemble the band that rocked 'n rolled their way into our late h.s. and early college listening rotation.

Rolling Stones - a boot called "Nasty Music" - a soundboard comp of '72-'73 performances.

Arguably their musical peak.

Strong material for sure...always been a fan of "Some Girls" through "Bridges of Babylon"

Some Girls sits atop the pile for me as their perfect album next to Let It Bleed, but a return to (albeit when they wanted to!) their Blues roots is what has me the most piqued in this range.

My all time favorite song of theirs is off of Beggar's Banquet, "Stray Cat Blues". Still the haunting guitar and sax of "Waiting For A Friend" and "When The Whip Comes Down", "Shattered", "Send It To Me", "All The Way Down", "Had It With You", "Break The Spell", "Out Of Tears", and their opus "Saint of Me"...the bookend to "Sympathy For The Devil". You almost feel sorry for Satan. The drumbeat and the guitars have me hooked. All prove that they can always write and perform circles around other bands.

The Rolling Stones are in my Top 10 favorite bands of all time. For their ability to take the Blues and clean it up and make it danceable, laughable and respectable...why they even made that into a song too!

There's a reason why they're not going quietly into the good night!
