North and South Korea continue to break new ground in their peace talks.
World leaders are giving Trump a large share of the credit.

Meanwhile, CNN et al continue to lead with a story about porn star sex from a decade before Trump became president.

It's almost as disgusting as awarding Obama the Nobel Peace Prize.
What did he do?

Oh yeah.
He laughed at Mitt Romney when he said Russia was our biggest threat.
He wagged a finger at Syria stepping over the "red line" before Putin put Obama in place.
He played a shell game with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Nothing to see here. Not his war.

But he did genuflect and apologize a lot.

So there's that.

So not only is Turnbull giving Trump credit for bringing the two Korean leaders together, he's also giving Trump credit for uniting the global community and particulary China against the NK. The left is silent on this issue for now. Eventually the left will figure out how to play this so that Trump recieves no credit, the MSN will be reporting these scripted talking points, and Banderi and Huck will be repeating them here.

I think it is entirely possible that Trump should be credited for changes in language and postures. How can he not? If you say that things have improved dramatically in recent days, weeks, or months; than other than Trump, what else is different?

I've still got major problems, but giving Trump some credit isn't one of them. First, I'd have some respect for Trump if he would have watched the meeting this weekend and tweeted something like, "Way to go, guys!"......or, "Things are looking up, but we all need to be cautiously optimistic"....not, "NK is on its knees thanks to me"....."Look, world! I am like a god"...or whatever it was he said.

Second thing is....has the entire world lost its senses? This is still Kim Jung Un we're talking about. We don't even know what he wants...but, everybody's throwing confetti. Denuclearization? Really......and people seem to think that he is really going to offer to kill the single greatest.....maybe ONLY thing that NK claims to have accomplished in its entire history???? Every NK leader has adeptly twisted our leaders in knots without ever ceding anything substantial. If you say him on tv walking up to Moon and shaking hands and thought that a new era in NK approach to the world has changed....well, you may be surprised to learn that 'gullible' isn't really in the dictionary

Imagine that. First Turnbull giving Trump credit, and now Moon saying that Trump should win the Nobel Peace Prize. Yet I still see that a majority on the left flat out refuse to give Trump any credit whatsoever.

^^Dave, points taken on both Trump and Kim. Trump does tend to have "diarrhea of the mouth" more often then not. I am surprised that someone in his administration hasn't already closed down his Twitter account. I believe his constant tweets do far more damage then good.

I'm not a real big Trump supporter. He does and says many things that disturb and anger me. But since right now my only choice is Trump or the left, I'm stuck with Trump.

It's like that show on the food network.
The azzhole dude comes in to a failing restaurant and starts yelling at everybody. Tells them they're stupid and doing it wrong. He insults them and belittles them.
It's good drama.
But at the end of the show the restaurant that was about to fail is suddenly making a profit.

Nobody would want to work for that guy on a long term basis.
But his methods are effective when a little jolt is needed.
Because he's not wrong.
And he doesn't let hurt feelings get in the way of progress.

Never seen the show...or even the Food Network...but makes sense....certainly in the short term -- what are longer term success rates? And, I wonder if it would be possible to get a sense for impact of the azzboss on longetivity

Who cares? All the President is anymore is a figure head. I say we push a bill through that sets term limits on the senate and House. Then push another bill through that limits their pay to that of a lance corporal.

See how quickly this nation winds up in the green.......

I worked for two different organizations that had tough guys come in. (only 200-400 'employees', not 300 million, so I don't know if the anal works well here.)

First was place that was having serious problems; morale, competence, safety, etc. New guy brought unforgiving, austere, take-no-prisoners mentality. Everyone hated it, but the organization was turned around in less than six months - the guy was replaced with a more 'normal' leader -- the changes was planned as temporary from the start -- and things were good for a number of years. Workers embraced the professionalism and increased productivity and sense of quality.

Second place was mid to high performing when the new boss arrived with lofty goals for the organization and even loftier ambition for himself. We rocketed to the top very quickly, but at the expense of a lot of great talent and permanent damage to morale and culture. As soon as the guy left after a couple years, I think, the place went down fast. Not that it could have sustained the beatdowns and micromanagement much longer, even if he'd stayed.

No comment on presidency...really....just thinking about the restaurant thing

I guess that in my experience, getting the organization on board with tough boss' plans probably requires a fair amount of respect, even if he's widely disliked....not sure Trump is going to get there.

I also think that the nation is a pretty low point of patisanship, not just of our leadership, but of the population. One of Trump's signature management techniques is pitting under-management against each other -- competition and all that....might work in business or reality tv....or even in Congress -- but, I'm dispirited by the divides opened up all over society and I do think that Trump has to accept some of the blame for that.

I wish what you said here was true, but the size and scope of the modern presidency is far more than that of just a figurehead. We see this regularly in things like war, executive orders, etc. The scope of the presidency has far exceeded our founder’s wildest dreams.

I agree that term limits could be beneficial in all walks of government. Does anyone know why Supreme Court Justices serve for life? I have heard people say it’s so they can do their job without fear of being replaced. Must be nice...

Let me re-phrase that, should be that of a figure head........

Executive orders should be unconstitutional

I always seem to perform better and loved working in places that had unforgiving or "austere" type mentality. Due to the fact that people as a whole tend to take the path of least resistance they don't typically follow the rules, give an inch they take a mile. Its ok if BOB takes an hour break but you better only take 15 minutes. In the type of environment you are describing it is not long before the Riffraff is out the door, the staff that is left follow the rules and treatment is typically equal across the board for all. When you get a group like that they tend to start "Owning" or as you say "Staff tends to embrace their professionalism and have a huge sense of quality. A person starts to feel that they are part of a team and not each man for himself.

I think that is why I always loved working in the OR doing brain surgeries, spine cases and heart cases. Most surgeons have this mentality and one screw up its GTFO of my OR and dont come back "EVER" no matter what the reason for the screw up was.

No comment on the presidency here either cause it is what it is and I really don't give a chit about that. My not giving a chit is due to people have run it in the ground so much now its worse than hearing the one song playing on the radio over and over and my eyes glaze over and my brain starts thinking about basket weaving.

Now, with that being said, if he signed one that gave me the right to kick back and smoke a cigar in the middle of my work day, Without worries of repercussions, I would definitely not be against it.
