I would love a big, strong, actually technically talented forward like Wilson on my team but like you think I would never condone his head hunting (which it obviously is and always has been) no matter the situation.

NHL seems to be dropping the hammer on head shots, even if unintentional. In a fast paced game, it is extremely difficult to change trajectories if your intended target moves. The Kings' Drew Doughty got a game off for a hit that was very questionable. During a replay, halfway through, in slow motion, his arm/shoulder thrust was not aimed at the head...then the opponent lowered and turned his torso slightly, anticipating the blow and Doughty's follow through struck Carrier's head.

Of course, the refs have to make a real-time split second decision... but the league reviews the plays to determine the final penalty and it seems that head shots, ergo concussions/brain injuries are motivating it. They will try to minimize the possibility of brain injuries to avoid the litigation by former players that is beginning to happen in the NFL.

Los Doyers are getting bit hard by the injury bug, and the pitchers, including top studs Kershaw and Jansen, haven't found their grooves yet.
