I have to say that the dirty hit by Tom Wilson deserved at least if not a longer suspension. And this is coming from someone who really hates the Penguins. 🌫

Bet you couldn't find two people inside the beltway to agree. The overriding sentiment from fans AND from local media is:

-Wilson isn't dirty. He plays hard.

-Caps need his style of physical play - hard and fair

-NHL is becoming the NFL....wtf ...a guy can't even check anymore????

Of course, the refs have to make a real-time split second decision... but the league reviews the plays to determine the final penalty and it seems that head shots, ergo concussions/brain injuries are motivating it. They will try to minimize the possibility of brain injuries to avoid the litigation by former players that is beginning to happen in the NFL.
