Ledger David Malbec 2016 from Rogue Valley - tight and crisp when first poured but developed nice round flavors with a little air time. Very nice.

Thanks Jamie (Z) for the gift.

A glass of “The Prisoner” with dinner.

My wife and I aren’t really wine drinkers but the bartender recommended it. Was good.

I have a bunch of the $100 wine cards you get from orders here. Anyone want them? I don't drink enough to use them.

I got a bunch of those too. Seems like it would be worth it just to place an initial order. Get a case of something you like, and you'll go through it eventually.

I heard that. And again. A bottle doesn't last me for more than a few hours, so I leave it for Sundays

At my favorite tasting room Ledger David.

Today’s sampler:
2017 Sauvignon Blanc
2017 Radiant White (blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay & Malvasia Bianca
2016 Orion’s Nebula ( blend of Cab Franc, Malbec, Petite Verdot & Syrah)
2016 Syrah just released.

Then had a glass of Orion’s Nebula. So good....

Interesting blend Z. There is consideration in Bordeaux of reintroducing Syrah as a Bordeaux grape, though I doubt it will ever happen. How was the white blend? It sounds very interesting. About 3 months of living vicariously on this thread. No booze, wine, or beer till I get down to my weight goal.

Copied from a local vineyard that does right bank Bordeaux:

Hello Bordeaux wine lovers.

There's big news from Bordeaux. The AOC regulators have just approved 7 new grape varieties to be allowed in Bordeaux blends. It's an experimental trial allowing up to 10% of these non-traditional varieties to be added to approved blends.

Citing global warming and its impact on increasing alcohol in their wines they're attempting to try and bring the more age able, traditional, lower alcohol styles back.

Or, if you want to experience the more traditional, lower alcohol Bordeaux style wines without getting into such experimental changes you might want to come try the smooth and lingering wines of Cricket Hill.

Wow!!! An interesting grouping of new grapes for Bordeaux. They all make sense. They do well in warm wet conditions and maintain acidity.
