maybe, maybe.
I'm from here and knew nothing of these great opportunities, so I do wonder how the menu of freebies reached illiterate families living under oppressive regimes in impoverished conditions likely without cable tv or free press, how they heard enough to pack up and walk 1500 miles for free breakfast programs...and stuff.
I keed, I keed, a little.
I still think, with absolutely zero evidence but a feeling about human survival instincts and natural desire to improve one's family's lot in life, that most come for the opportunity.
We have people born here who think the handouts are da bomb (do the kids still say that?) but most instinctively know there is better available in this country. I really struggle to believe that most take that looooong walk and risk life itself just for freebies.
Haven't been to New Beige in ages. You know a great storefront Port-a-gee seafood joint where we can meet?
Preferably somewhere with illeg...uh I mean undocumented waitresses so we don't have to tip 20%...I keed again.
But do ya?
