why should he...he's over 70 and he's a product of in-breeding, which produces a number of underlying health conditions that weaken the immune system...

got nothing to worry about

Prince Charles has been tested and found positive to Covid19. I heard a reporter asked him how he felt about it and he replied "What, Me Worry".

Victor (or anyone with some knowledge), if someone recovers from this virus, are they now immune?

If yes, can a cure/vaccine be developed from their blood or other cells or parts I never heard about?

frankj1 wrote:

yes to both Q's...I heard Dr. Sanjay Gupta talking about both topics during a televised corona virus town hall...

virus will behave like measles...once you get it you're likely to have long-term immunity several medical research studies underway to use anti-bodies taken from infected persons and replicating them...

I'm going to guess you will only have long term immunity to this particular strain.

This is just a guess, so feel free to check better sources... but this is a corona virus, same basic structure as your common cold (also a corona virus). There's no reason I can think of to imagine that what has become COVID-19 can have enough small mutations on the outer capsid to make it undetectable to antibodies to the original one.

Could be something as simple as getting an annual vaccination to the predominant strain though, same thing we do with the flu.

Why would you ask Victor for some knowledge or advice about anything. He’s defending two jackasses who self medicated with chloroquine phosphate.

Plus Mr. Puddin is trying to be optimistic about combatting a viral pneumonia and offering hopeful information.

Victor is a pessimist at best and an anarchist at worst. Proving by every post, he truly hates America and roots for its destruction every waking moment.

He’s a Punk

Look through my posts over the years and think to yourself whether it would seem logical that I would defend anyone who took medical advice from our moron of a president.

Does that seem consistent at all to you?

Yet that's the stance you take?

Not every situation is "win/lose"... sometimes both the idiots blaming the president for giving them medical advice AND the idiot president giving medical advice are BOTH losers.

And you're upset I'm pessimistic when someone's trying to give you hope that a cure will come and save you?

I'm pointing out issues with the study in which they are trying to prove the cure will work. That's not pessimism... that's actual reality.

Are you seriously on here upset because I'm not willing to join in with the blowing of smoke up your ass just because it makes you feel bad?

There is a study underway using the blood of those who were a symptomatic. I believe they are or will be collecting blood in NY.

The initial plan at work was to have my unit stay "clean" with both staff and rooms attempted to exclude from covid patients so we had critical care beds for other folks like gunshots and heart attacks and stuff.

While they're still going to try to keep the unit clean, they're shifting staff around. Higher risk staff is getting moved to my unit, and lower risk is getting moved to the covid units.

I've been reassigned to covid units starting my next workweek.

Just as I predicted, more highly positive results of the hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin combo are coming in. The Fox News Channel primetime shows had more patients interviewed last night, including a guy who, just like the last guy they interviewed the other day, thought he was done for, and after getting those two drugs, he's now back home and cured and feeling perfectly normal and great, after being at death's doorstep previously. Because both were discharged from the hospital, that means they both had to have two negative tests in a row.... which means it's a cure.

I also noticed a shift in tone from the professionals being interviewed about it. They went from "well we can't say yet, let's wait and see, beyond that I have no comment" to "let's wait and see but gosh we're starting to see some good results here..."

It's happening, like I said it would. Next week the anecdotal "IT WORKS!" floodgates will probably open much wider.

I hope so.

I disagree with you on the tone of the professionals and think you or fox are seeing what you want to see. Remember fox is entertainment and highly controlled or produced.

Anyone who has ever worked with health care professionals, especially at the public health or delivery model knows the tone around clinical trials etc. it doesn’t change for this or anything else.

Love your optimism though. I hope you are right. I just wouldn’t rely on fox or msnbc for my info.

Fox entertainment folks like Ingram, hannity, Reagan etc have been consistently wrong on this and have pretzeled themselves to try to cover that fact. I hope they are right about this one but I’d turn elsewhere for validation.

Yes, I'm aware of that. My analysis rests on multiple and varied pieces of real data and evidence, not on cable news content.

However, the cable news interviews with people who were about to die and then were suddenly cured after taking the two drugs are interesting to watch and do have limited value. It's also nice to hear reports of the two-drug combination being used nationwide "off-label" and hearing from the M.D.s who are doing it.
