Statistically people do vote party line even though everyone says they are way to smart and informed to do that. That’s why elections always focus on increasing registration and voter turnout.

Trump wins because the DNC rigged the election against Bernie and the Bernie and Pocahontas fans and not going to show up on Election Day.

Feel free to quibble over whether the president saying that is dangerous to morons, or whatever. But don't pretend he wasn't so dumb to have said that completely seriously, in a context of trying to find solutions. There was no sarcasm, no joking.

They're not wrong.

I suspect the key was the "the press is the enemy of the people" playbook. Once you've done that, you've inoculated yourself from any criticism from them (at least among your followers).

This is why that was such a dangerous move, and why many intelligent people started getting very unhappy when he did this.

The world has already known that Trump is unpredictable from the standpoint of a more traditional blue-blood American royalty politician.

It is kinda funny when people say he’s dumb or stupid but he did manage to become the President of the United States. Top that!

In the instance above he showed he was way out of his league but kept talking about it anyway.... and worse trying to direct folks that know much more than him in to wasting their time looking in to garbage as if they needed his help. And they likely had to spend time afterwards convincing him.

It's the equivalent of someone who has been "studying" a topic they never much considered before by watching cable news and looking on the internet trying to help an astro physicist find the missing piece of their research.
