Hey Allen the same day we spoke and I asked to clarify the name of the rose you suggested La Farge ( I bought a bottle Le Farghe) I immediately saw and bought a bottle of red that says:

Domaine
Lafage
Nicloas
vieilles vignes de grenache (100%)...Roussillon
it's 2018, an Eric Solomon selection, reads like it's pretty full bodied and fruity, and suggests will age well.
The word Miraflors is there somewhere, you gave that a thumbs up once on a post I made...

same producers as the rose you like?

Yes, you have a bottle that is made from about 100 year old vines. While it is not a beast it is huge. My favorite old vine Grenache. Drinks great on its own, with red meat, with lamb, with stew, with goulash, wild boar, venison, buffalo. You are in for a treat! Expect it to turn your mouth purple, it will. After taking a swig rub your tounge on the outside of your front teeth, very interesting.

Had to break into my father-in-law's stash due to quarantine. Drinking some Apothic Red Blend‎. Silky smooth & fruity from the Cabs I prefer.

It's to fruit forward Carl. If they backed the fruit down a about 50% it would be much better IMHO. Though it is designed for a specific crowd and sells very well.

There are too many people here who are all too willing to forward their fruit.
I'm thankful that Spey chooses to be a bit more restrained...

The Alexander Valley is full of great Cabernet. Apparently this wasn’t one.

Very dry on the end, with an overpowering amount of oak bitterness. It's not bad - just doesn't fit my palate. I don't care for dry cabs or other wines.

If you can find it, try Roth, a truely underpriced Alexander Valley cabernet. About $23.00. At its quality it could be $50.00 IMHO.

Marcel Deiss, 2009 Elgarten Blanc, Alsace, France.

Wow!!! Had it with apple slices and pear slices drizzled with a thick white wine vinegar, like an old Basalmic in style.

You can not go wrong with any Red's from Chile.

Ledger David 2016 Cab Franc. The nose is a bit boozier than past releases but still has that signature nose of dark cherries, a touch or blackberry and a backbone of fig sweetness. My desert island wine.

You can take the redneck outta the sheets, but you can’t take the sheets outta the redneck without some bacon.
