the criminal justice system's treatment of marijuana users: usage rates among blacks and whites are comparable: but the imprisonment rate and severity of sentences for blacks far outnumber that of whites...

I saw this firsthand in the police academy in 1987, before MJ was decriminalized in CA...tach officers from mostly white beach communities said they often don't cite those caught smoking MJ, maybe confiscate and FI, but no cite or arrest...contrast with tach officers from LAPD, who say MJ is a primary opening to go looking for more serious violations, but will be at least a cite and release or booking if you don't find anything else, boosts arrest numbers and clearance rate for crimes...

We're in the middle of protests due to how the police force tends to treat one race differently than another... thousands of people are literally discussing it right now. If what's been publicized in the past 4 weeks hasn't impacted his opinion, why bother?

Your second article talks about history, not the present, and gives no concrete examples of systemic racism in today's society.

Your third article defines it and again gives no concrete examples of it.

I used to believe it was the law of unintended consequences that made things like welfare and public housing such a mess. I now believe it was systemic racism, the parliament of whores, that keeps blacks in poverty. God bless that individuals that said F' this, I'm getting out of the cycle.

Ain't just blacks, Gene... I was in that cycle and I said F this and got out of it. So did my siblings.

And the world is better for it. It has been the same for asians and latinos too, even the Irish. For blacks the issue is further complicated by the history of slavery and the folks delighted to perpetuate the notion of waiting until someone in power delivers salvation, (For racism and to collect votes.) instead of bootstrapping themselves.

Here the problem is some people consider their feelings and opinions as fact and anything or anyone that conflicts with their feelings is to be vilified.
