Drop the dish and get YOUTUBETV..........we've never been happier. No installation,no dish,no contract,no additional 500 BS channels to browse thru and no contract. Not sure about your area but we get all our local affiliates ........good for us due to being out of antenna range.

Should we tell Drafter the Super Bowl is on CBS this year? I say we don't

JadeRose wrote:

No, I second that motion. Drafter won't watch anyway if its on main stream fake news.

I live in the TV shadow of a "mountain" (2000') so an antennae won't pull anything in (maybe a big one on the roof might).

https://www.locast.org/  I get 20-30 (?) local channels out of the greater Boston area. It costs about $5/month and you can use it on 4 (I think) devices/account.

I get all the local channels that are transmitted over the airwaves. It's "live" and the same thing you'd get over the air or cable including the commercials and you can't pause, rewind, or DVR anything. There's some lag between the streaming feed and the feed through a cable box but if you're not watching them side by side it's no biggie.

It's worth checking if you're looking to do away with cable.

Ray, thanks for the YOUTUBETV tip. I might look into that and check it out.

I love curling! If we had it in America, I'd prolly own my own rock!

I should get one just to set on the floor and yell at...

Just looked at the 85 channels on YouTube TV. That may be an option... $65 a month, then you add the $$ you have to pay for internet. Still probably around $100 a month. Less than I pay now for a buncha channels I don't watch.

Yeah, I looked into YouTube TV. Pretty much the same assessment as MACs: the $65/month for the TV channels plus internet fees, it's close to standard internet/TV packages with a bunch of channels that I don't watch.

We recently scraped DishTV. She's addicted to Discovery ID channel and that was on a tier that ran us about 140.00 a month. We have Amazon Prime mainly for the shipping discounts that we use for the sanctuary but end up watching tv on it and Netflix as well. Kept seeing them advertise their Discovery+ streaming and gave it a whirl. 9.99 a month for no commercials. Looked at CBS All Access and that's 9.99 a month for no commercials as well.

Ditched DishTV.

Been over a month and it's nice having extra cigar money!
