Truth be told HD, that part is fine. I never intended to have children. My paternal side of the family goes back at least 4 generations with fathers that savagely beat their children. I intended to break that chain.

It took Sandy some time to convince me that I will never be like that. This is a concern that I live with.

only broke that vow one time (hard slap on the bottom when my son was 4-5 years old) and it devastated me...I was so angry at myself that I nearly broke my hand hitting the kitchen cabinet after my son ran off crying...left a dent in the cabinet that served as a reminder to me...

it is telling that I can't remember why I spanked him...so inconsequential...
