the bastards that flew the planes and killed all those people and set us reeling were saudi's. no one has ever provided one iota of a connection between them and iraq.

why are we in iraq?

were it up to me and i had this burning ambition to get rid of saddam, who was an annoyance, but not a threat to us, i would have gotten rid of him and not brought him to trial, as we are doing now, and then leave iraq in the hands of the people of iraq. if they want to kill eash other because of their religions banging together, so be it. it is happening now as the argue about who will be in charge so they can rob the people, salt the money away and live a life of wealth and power like saddam did.

maybe a new saddam would come to power and we would invest heavily in his defense and he could start a war with iran because of the nuclear bombs they are working on.

then the iranians could raid our embasy and hold people hostage until they get the best deal with whoever is running for president in 2008 and we could have another september surprise.

those people were fighting the same battle before columbus discovered the dominican republic, probably the first time they walked upright and developed rock tools, and will be fighting until we set sail on a manned mission to find gold on another planet, rape. pillage, and kill the indigenous specie we find there.

when israel feels the time is necessary she will take out iran's capabilities for her own protection and we will be in the un vetoing sanctions against israel that will be propossed by the rest of the arab world because of israel's attacking a soveriegn nation, while they sigh under their collective breaths, relieved that iran no longer poses a threat.

no, bush's approval rating is below 40% and has been as low as 32%. that's 1/3 of the country that's with him, the rest are against him.

don't you ever do any research for yourself. if you did you would have information available to you and you could make decisions for yourself instead of just critiquing other's by rote.

Rick, if you did research on your own and not just CNN, Air America, NPR, CBS, etc, you'd be a Republican!

LOL

thank you, rick. thank you for keeping the discussion from turning offensive. i certainly do understand your points and agree to some extent. i think our policy has been to let our enemies fight their enemies while we support their enemies. that seems to be an endless cycle. i'm not sure how well that works.

either way, a rational discussion of the events is more enlightening than an "insult-fest."

Here is a list of organizations backing and paying for a public relation firm for Sheehan......liberal advocacy groups MoveOn.org Political Action, TrueMajority and Democracy for America.

The above organizations now have the perfect ventriloquist's dummy.

Adroomi, those comments about bumperstickers are no less inflamatory than any "warmongering" statements. Please don't be a hypocrite! It takes away from your credibility.

Lofty1,

In regards to Cindy Sheehan's comment:

"We are waging a nuclear war in Iraq right now. That country is contaminated. It will be contaminated for practically eternity now."

The is an Internet/conspiracy theory out there related to the long-term radioactive toxicity of the depleted uranium ammunition that US forces used in both wars with Iraq. One version of the theory is that depleted uranium is the cause of the mysterious Gulf War Syndrome illnesses from the first war.

By no means did Cindy make that bold statement up on her own. Somebody shoved those words in her mouth. How those thoughts got to her could be a quite interesting trail and story.

Ruggysgirl,

I didn't mean to offend you. But sometimes the truth is scarier than fiction, and.....

....there WERE stickers that said "white is right" and typically I remember them being on cars that also displayed American Flag stickers. I also remember seeing one on a car with a sticker that said "Jesus Saves."

That's not to say that everyone fits this profile, but generally the majority of folks I've ever met (and trust me, I've known and KNOW quite a few) that would put a racist sticker on their car are also the type to put the other two types of stickers on their car as well.

If you want me to be a little blatant, I will. Read the silly little falsly identified as something Robin Williams said post about the "Peace Plan." That is the mindset of the typical person that would have all three of those stickers on their car, although the majority of them would be too chickensh*t to put the "white is right" sticker up for fear of being beat up. They'd be thinking it in their quiet thoughts though......

"While digesting Reader's Digest

In the back of a dirty book store,

A plastic flag, with gum on the back,

Fell out on the floor.

Well, I picked it up and I ran outside

Slapped it on my window shield,

And if I could see old Betsy Ross

I'd tell her how good I feel.

But your flag decal won't get you

Into Heaven any more.

They're already overcrowded

From your dirty little war.

Now Jesus don't like killin'

No matter what the reason's for,

And your flag decal won't get you

Into Heaven any more.

Well, I went to the bank this morning

And the cashier he said to me,

"If you join the Christmas club

We'll give you ten of them flags for free."

Well, I didn't mess around a bit

I took him up on what he said.

And I stuck them stickers all over my car

And one on my wife's forehead.

Well, I got my window shield so filled

With flags I couldn't see.

So, I ran the car upside a curb

And right into a tree.

By the time they got a doctor down

I was already dead.

And I'll never understand why the man

Standing in the Pearly Gates said...

"Your flag decal won't get you

Into Heaven any more.

We're already overcrowded

From your dirty little war.

Now Jesus don't like killin'

No matter what the reason's for,

And your flag decal won't get you

Into Heaven any more."

I wonder how many people gas up their SUVs every morning and then drive out to Bush's ranch to protest by holding signs that say "No Blood for Oil".

. Her son dying in Iraq is a non-factor (as far as making her opinion worth something)! For every anti war parent of a dead soldier there are two that still support it. You just don't hear about it on CNN! Adroomi says people are starting to listen. Only the people that were saying it already are. She sponsored a candlelight vigil against the war. She claimed (well her handlers mostly) that up 50,000 people across the country took part! In a country of 300,000,000! Wow! That's almost a 60th of 1 %! Bush might as well start packing his bag!
