I scrolled up and saw how this stupid sh*t started... it was smooth light, I'm pretty sure of it.

who in the world are you talking to?

If my post #52, I can't understand how you missed me just helping my friend tail regain control of his thread.

[quote=bgz]Got math?

Let's see, where do I get my reason from...
... Hell, good question... but what I do believe, is that my ability to reason is an emergent phenomenon. Nothing to do with a deity. Not sure how that's circular
-yes you do
you don't even know what you believe. First its No God then it's Flying spaghetti monster then it's maybe there's a God but He doesn't care.

It is THE question!
To rehash: I asked if you believe in absolute truth
You got stuck on a definition so we landed on -that which corresponds to reality
You said there's no such thing as absolute truth.
Opie than asked the obvious "is it absolutely true that there's no absolute truth?

We went from there with you showing the foolishness of your worldview as you hid behind quantum mechanics for not being able to know anything.

As far as me saying I could be wrong about everything I think I know...

Let's do it again, so I can show you & everyone reading the foolishness of your vain reasoning

The claim that anyone is right or wrong without an absolute standard of truth is vain.
The questions I asked were to show you the obvious contradictions in your worldview

I didn't go back and look up our old chats... it's more fun to refresh raw.

Pay attention in class so you we can move on to the next lesson please.

Do you believe in universal logic?

Truth makes no sense without God. If thoughts are just the result of electrochemical reactions in evolved brains they are neither true or false they just are.
Morality makes no sense without God. If humans are just bags of primordial soup, what one bag does to another bag is neither moral or immoral it just is.
Science makes no sense without God. If the universe is constantly changing then there's no reason to believe the rules with which we do science have not changed.

Also, there's no science in there. Show me where it teaches you relativity, or explains what a fermion is. What page does it discuss the inverse square law? Or the laws of thermodynamics? What page does it go over evolution... oops, didn't mean to spit that one out.

Oh how I'd love to get into this line as biblical science does glorify Our Father but I don't do bible studies with Truth deniers

Also, not sure how this thread got turned into a religious argument. Not sure why you care what I think on the topic, not like we're going to change each other's mind or anything.

It started because I point out the anti Semitism of the left. People need better ground to stand on so they abandon Atheism in favor of pastafarianism where his noodley appendage can give one special revelation with which to hate Isreal and kill babies
& yes Holy Spirit is reaching out to you to change your mind & heart. Our God is worthy of your worship so I offer the Peace I've been given freely, which passes understanding, to you.

Oh, I see what happenned now... you thought my spaghetti monster post was serious. I meant to say I follow the tennats of discordia and the law of 5s... or was it 10s... I forget. Seriously, Discordia is a real deity... as real as the mathematical number i at least.

Oh... and you just basically told me you're an immoral man because you require a deity to be moral.

It's the equivalent of an elf on the shelf.

Pinky, I am definitely not a good person. Never claimed to be.
But how do you know/judge between good & evil?

Do you believe in universal logic?

Examine what your initial reaction was to the proof of God’s existence I offered. Did you think that you could continue to deny God because you are not a scientist, or philosopher but ‘Surely somewhere, sometime, a philosopher or scientist will come up with an explanation for truth, knowledge & logic apart from God?’ Did you try to come up with an alternate explanation on your own OR did you even consider that the proof was valid?

Hoping that an alternate explanation for truth, knowledge, and universal, immaterial, unchanging logic can someday be found apart from God, is(like tailgater said) a blind leap of faith, or wishful thinking. Isn’t it interesting that this is exactly what professed unbelievers say about people of Faith.

ikr?

Anyway... DG, I'm not even discounting your dogma... maybe the ancient goat f*ckers really did figure it all out! Maybe they hit the nail on the head (or through the arm so to speak).

Here's the thing... I'm claiming to not know anything about what happens after you die... nada, nothing, at all, period.

You're claiming that your position is the absolute truth.

I don't think the burden of proof is on me because I simply don't give a sh*t.

Nice try pinky

I am thankful for you toying with my bait!
Have you ever thought about the poor atheists condition that has no reason to be thankful for the beauty & Grace of the day

Is there such a thing as absolute truth is the question.
Contrary to your conflation.

We made some progress today
At least you graduated from atheism to agnostic
Pray for benny brothers, he's on a journey
I encourage you read the bible & come at me with what offends you most about it
Maybe don't hijack a thread to do it though
Nail on the head or in the hand would be nice title

You misinterpreted what I said... *sigh*

I said the people that like to put labels on things consider me to be an atheist of the agnostic variety. That's a far cry from me saying I'm agnostic... two very different meanings.

As far as reading the bible, read it (well most of it anyway, I'm sure I skipped some parts). From what I remember it was pretty boring. I don't really find anything offensive about it, but it does make me question our evolutionary progress. I think it shows how primitive we really are.

As far as the thread... how was I the one to hijack it? Lol, *smfh*

Is it absolutely true I misinterpreted you?

Bummer your backsliding already.
You're not very stable in your worldviews are you?
That's a good thing in your case.

Transcendental proofs B
If you need definition I can wiki it up

Read the bible again now that I'm praying for you.
It's EnCrYpTeD (humility is the key code)
" Spiritually written therefore spiritually discerned"
Incredibly dense Word. Read it slowly
If you, like Daniel the prophet are good at math you can try secret equations that are yet to be found out hidden in scripture.

It's the Glory of God to conceal a matter, it's the glory of man to find it out

What's smfh & ikr?

I'll stick with my math and science books. At least they give you objective answers in the back of them so you can check your progress. I feel with alternative theories/hypothesises/mythologies, sometimes you just end up smiling and nodding. Don't get me wrong, some of the stories are cool, but you gotta admit. Some of it just drags... almost a chore to read. A testament to your dedication to read the entire book.

As far as equations being hidden in scripture... I think in order for that to be true, you have to pull it from the book first prior to it's discovery, then you have to show that it applies logically generally.

I mean, show me where "e^(i*pi) + 1 = 0" is explicitly stated or can some how mystically be pulled from it.

I could show you what holds everything together & all the treasures of wisdom hidden from the ages that men like Daniel began to uncover but again I don't do bible studies with truth deniers
I mean c'mon man you don't even believe in universal logic!
Or have you changed worldviews again?

So, was John Kerry an agnostic or was that just a swift boat story. Any discussion of the bible is kinda worthless unless you can specify the bible and the translations.

Watch out for false prophets.
Dg west deptford

Do you need a recommendation on translation?
I like the New American Standard version. However I highly recommend using the earliest texts then using strong's numbers to interpret every single word, jot & tittle the scribes copied for your self.
The recent dead sea scroll discoveries verified ancient scrolls were copied perfectly. & Confirmed false cult bibles as such.
That said the hood version as I call it aka the living bible (& many like it) dumb it down dangerously loose but is still GOOD for the less literate reader.
Of course the cults like the mormons, JWs, etc. Have added & subtracted from the originals so yeah- right on Tony!
I don't know Kerry's heart?
