RIP. Could have been President if he wanted to and I respect him for his decision not to be.

I heard at one time that his wife or maybe a daughter had an ongoing illness and this was the main reason he would not consider a run for the presidency.

One has to respect an individual that puts family before more fame and power.

but it is also not uncommon for former presidents to comment on the passing of a former Sec.

What is "uncommon" is the need to denigrate an individual that can't defend himself because he has passed away.

Why not follow the golden rule of "if you don't have anything nice to say. don's say anything at all".

As a former Trump supporter, I’m truly baffled that anyone would give him the time of day, let alone support him in his apparent reelection bid. He is the most disgusting American to ever hold a public office. His 15 minutes of fame ended long ago. He needs to crawl back under a rock and rot.

EDIT:

McCain was an azzhole. But, that didn’t Trump license to say the things he said about him.

A man is measured by his ability to be dignified and rise to the level commiserate with one’s position in life. Based on that Trump is a double zero in my book.
