The 57 in Heinz 57 tomato catsup had no significance other than the owner liked the way it looked on the labor.

Sounds like dehumanization of the work force. Turning people into numbers

But equal at the same time, and 57 is such a modest number.

I applied there but they didn't want a 58. Applied again with my split personality but was rejected. The didn't want a Heinz Fiddy NINE!

Not recently Recently Acquired Knowledge but kinda related to the Heinz thing but not really at all

If you visit the Velcro plant in NH, they frown on you using the word Velcro to refer to their product. It's hook and loop technology. Velcro is a trade name, its not a product.

{shrug} whatever... lets get going on the plant tour and some stupid project plans.

Is there a test for this recently acquired knowledge?

Learned a new approach watching a documentary. Something I need to see if I can regularly apply in my life.

Instead of Why is this happening to me? Alter it to Why is this happening for me? There is a lesson in the moment you are in. Need to take the time to figure out what it is.

The change of perspective is a nice reset.

^ Agree. Change in perspective is a good way to look at things.

Why is this happening for me?

I like to take it one bit further, "What did I learn and how can I apply it going forward?" Past couple years I had to do a deep look at where I was going and some decisions I've made in the past. I've made some changes, took a step back that hopefully will give positive results and lead to two steps forward.

With hormone therapy and a few medical procedures I might be able to pass as an ugly chick and work the street corners for used lottery tickets and a pack of butts.

(OK the first part is true, the last part is trying to add levity)

I’ve got your back, Buckminster. I can say with full confidence, you would absolutely pass for an ugly chick.

And with the right attitude, you can get any butt you want. Even a whole pack of them

The Monopoly game man had a name. He was named in 1946 as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

Former Vice President of Parker Brothers, Phil Orbanes, claimed in an interview that it was J.P Morgan who inspired the iconic top hat and mustache look of Mr. Monopoly. The real J. P. Morgan, who was born in 1837, amassed a fortune of $80 million during his lifetime through investments, including in property.

An arroyo, also called a wash, is a dry creek, stream bed or gulch that temporarily or seasonally fills and flows after sufficient rain. Flash floods are common in arroyos following thunderstorms. In Spain and Latin America any small river is called an arroyo, flowing continually all year and never drying. The Spanish term for the subject of this article is rambla, while wadi is used in North Africa, and Western Asia. Arroyos provide a water source to desert animals. The desert dry wash biome is restricted to the arroyos of the southwestern United States.

Definition of calico
1a : cotton cloth imported from India
b British : a plain white cotton fabric that is heavier than muslin
c : any of various cheap cotton fabrics with figured patterns

Many of us in the desert live in former arroyos.
