Oil From Biden's Emergency SPR Release Is Heading For Europe

Joe Biden's decision to release 180 million barrels of oil from the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve - one million barrels per day for 180 days, ending just before the midterm elections which the Democrats will lose in an avalanche - was meant to help lower US gasoline prices "because Putin price hike." Instead, it is heading for Europe.

According to Bloomberg, citing a person familiar with the matter, the Suezmax ship Advantage Spring - sailing for Rotterdam, according to ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg - received emergency SPR sweet crude from Energy Transfer’s Nederland oil facility around April 1 for export.

It appears that somehow the definition of emergency now includes making a profit at the expense of American consumers because sooner or later a real emergency will hit and then it will be too late, while easing the true energy emergency over in Europe.

According to Matt Smith, oil analyst at commodity data firm Kpler, this is the first export of SPR crude since last November. Which means the oil was apportioned from Biden's shock SPR release.

One wonders what is behind Biden's decision to make US emergency SPR oil available across the Atlantic; one can only hope that it doesn't mean that in the coming midterms mail in ballots will also be made available to Europeans...

Video of Easter Bunny Interrupting Joe Biden Viewed 5 Million Times

Clips of the Easter Bunny interrupting President Joe Biden while he was busy talking about Afghanistan and Pakistan, and chatting with children attending Monday's White House's Easter egg roll, have gone viral on social media, having been watched almost over five million times.

An 11-second clip, shared by public relations consultant and former political adviser Thomas C. Dillon on Twitter on Monday, shows Biden engaging in conversation with reporters and guests of the White House's event when a staff member dressed in an Easter Bunny costume hops into the scene, unceremoniously interrupting Biden and waving their hands in front of him, redirecting him elsewhere.

"The Easter Bunny is here, Mr President!," a voice joyously announces before Biden is whisked away.

According to the New York Post, Biden was responding to a question from Afghan reporter Nazira Karimi before the bunny cut him off.

In two separate clips, the scene is somehow repeated when the same staff member wearing the Easter Bunny suit can be seen running to the President, who was talking with children in the crowd, and once again redirecting him elsewhere.

The three clips together got almost over five million views and social media were lit up with thousands of comments, including those from Biden's political opponents.

Abigail Marone, press secretary for Republican senator Josh Hawley—the first senator to object to certifying Biden's victory at the 2020 presidential election—commented on the clips on Twitter, saying "Why is the Easter Bunny directing the President of the United States."

Hawley later tweeted about the clips himself, saying "This Administration has officially reached peak absurdity."

Buzz Paterson, a Republican who ran as a California House candidate in 2020 but failed to be elected, wrote on Twitter: "Some staffer in a bunny outfit interrupts the most important person in the world. Only in Biden's America."

Daughter of former Republican senator and twice presidential candidate John McCain, Meghan McCain, commented on the clips blaming White House staff for not trusting Biden enough.

"The absolute distrust and disrespect our President's staff has for him and his capabilities to lead and speak in public is disgraceful. Shame on his team, shame on them. Why are they treating him like this? Because all this does is alarm the American public watching this."

https://tinyurl.com/nh99n39j

After the egg roll event, the Easter Bunny hopped on the White House press briefing on Monday, preceding press secretary Jen Psaki on the podium and pretending to take questions from journalists.

"Who knows who's under here?," Psaki laughed pointing at the bunny. "No more bunny business," she said, thanking the Easter Bunny for joining before the staff member in the holiday suit left the podium.

The identity of the Easter Bunny was initially rumored to be White House's press assistant Angela Perez, who had tweeted a photo of the same Easter Bunny attending the egg roll sitting at a press office desk.

The bunny was later revealed to be Meghan Hay, special assistant to the president and director of message planning at the White House, a role which explains why the bunny was taking the liberty to redirect the president through his engagements of the day and give him instructions.

The event marked the return of the traditional Easter egg roll at the White House after two years of absence due to the pandemic.

The President and first lady Jill Biden welcomed thousands of guests, including children, in the rainy South Lawn of the White House.

"After the pandemic kept us apart last year, it was an honor to welcome folks to the People's House for the 2022 White House Easter EGGucation Roll," wrote Biden on Twitter after the event."

Biden and Putin Are in Business Together, Thanks to the Iran Deal
The administration’s willing dependence on the Kremlin for its Iran policy sealed Ukraine’s fate

With President Joe Biden’s poll numbers at all-time lows and the midterm elections just around the corner, it should hardly come as any surprise that the Democratic Party will go back to its playbook and once again make Russian President Vladimir Putin the centerpiece of campaign season. But in order to blame Putin for Biden’s sinking presidency, the party and its media retinue are going to have to bury the fact that Biden and Putin are a team, tied together by the Iran deal.

In 2016, the Hillary Clinton campaign devised a plan to smear her rival and deflect attention away from her self-sabotaging use of a private email server—they got the press and FBI to say that Donald Trump had been compromised by Putin. In 2020, the media and former U.S. spy chiefs protected Biden’s campaign by loudly and falsely claiming that damning evidence of his family’s ties to corrupt foreign enterprises and officials found on Hunter Biden’s laptop was “disinformation” leaked by Putin’s spy services. Both attempts to blame Putin for the Democratic Party’s own messes were false.

And now the White House claims that the historic levels of inflation and surging food and energy prices that have turned voters against Biden are Putin’s fault. Never mind the insane amounts of money the U.S. government has been printing since the outbreak of COVID, or Biden’s decision to kill the Keystone pipeline on day one of his term and tell domestic energy producers to go jump off a bridge. These are Putin’s price hikes!

Up until now, the Democrats have been able to dine with Vladimir Putin and have their political cake, too. They blame Russia’s brutal despot for their domestic political screw-ups and then pay him off for doing their dirty work in the Middle East. Given that Putin couldn’t care less what lies Democrats tell on CNN, or how he is depicted by writers for The Atlantic, this arrangement has worked out just fine for all concerned—as long as campaign season bluster doesn’t affect a mutually profitable business relationship.

Unfortunately for the Democrats, the collision of Biden’s ghastly poll numbers with a real-life shooting war in Ukraine makes the enemy-by-day, proxy-by-night routine more difficult to sustain. What Biden’s protectors and validators in Washington can no longer conceal is that Biden is dependent on Putin to secure his chief foreign policy goal: reentering the Iran nuclear deal from which Trump withdrew. And once the deal is struck, Putin and his oligarchs stand to profit handsomely. As Sen. Ted Cruz put it, Biden intends to subsidize Putin’s war with a cash windfall worth at least $10 billion that will offset any sanctions Biden has imposed for invading Ukraine.

Typically, statesmen rationalize working with despots to achieve a greater good, even as these choices rankle the conscience of thoughtful men and women. Sure, Stalin is evil, but he is throwing millions of men against a greater evil, Hitler. We can work with him; we have to work with him. So surely Biden must think that Putin can help America achieve some vital geopolitical goal that somewhere down the line will foster greater things? Or else why work with a man who makes a habit of bombing schools and hospitals and other civilian facilities in Chechnya, in Syria, and now in Ukraine?

No, in this case American policymakers are countenancing havoc to beget chaos. By guaranteeing Iran’s ability to destabilize the Persian Gulf region and jolt energy markets by legalizing its nuclear weapons program, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a direct threat to American prosperity and domestic peace, not to mention to the entire Middle East. But because the Iran deal was Barack Obama’s signature foreign policy initiative, the Biden team has made restoring it their top foreign policy priority.

Yet faced with the Biden administration’s overeager desire to reenter Obama’s Iran deal as soon as possible, the Iranians played hard to get. Their pride was wounded. And with a buyer firmly on the hook, the price could only go up. The obscurantist regime decided to teach the Americans a lesson by refusing to negotiate directly with the Biden team, even though it is staffed by Obama aides with whom it first struck the JCPOA in July 2015. The person chosen to mediate between America and Iran was Vladimir Putin.

It was not the first time the Obama-Biden team had tasked Moscow with managing Iran policy on its behalf. As the Syrian war broke out in March 2011, U.S. allies beseeched the White House to stop Bashar Assad’s bloody campaign against his own people. But since Assad was an Iranian client as well as a Russian one, Obama knew that if he stepped in against Assad, there would be no Iran deal. So he brushed off petitioners and told them to go talk to Putin instead. Obama then repeatedly used the Russians as a veto by proxy to defeat anti-Assad resolutions at the United Nations. When the Russians shot down a Turkish air force jet on the Syrian border, the White House backed Moscow’s account of the incident and left its NATO ally twisting in the wind.

Perhaps most famously, Russia protected Obama’s nuclear deal when it offered to rid Assad of his chemical weapons arsenal—an offer that kept Obama from having to enforce the redline against the use of chemical weapons. Because keeping Assad in power was an Iranian strategic necessity, the equation circa mid-2014 was clear to everyone involved: no Russia, no Iran deal. When Putin bit off Crimea and chunks of Donbas, Obama barely blinked an eye.

When Putin again escalated the number of Russian ground forces in Syria shortly after the JCPOA was struck, Obama administration officials celebrated Putin as America’s new partner in the fight against terror—that is, the war to defend Iranian interests in the eastern Mediterranean. If Iran couldn’t protect its “equities” in Syria on its own, then Russia could protect them, with American help.

It was only natural that the same people who relied on Russia to protect the Iran deal the first time around knew they could count on Putin once again when it came time for the United States to reenter the JCPOA. In December 2021, Putin and Biden aides met in Vienna to coordinate their negotiating postures over the Iran deal. Biden and Putin then discussed their arrangements together directly in a video summit. “Russia is an important partner in these talks,” a State Department spokesperson told the press in January. “We engage very constructively with Russia … on a mutual return to the JCPOA.”

The same month, Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed his gratitude to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov for the “opportunity to discuss Iran.” The negotiations “have reached a decisive moment,” said Blinken, and “we hope that Russia will use the influence that it has and relationship that it has with Iran to impress upon Iran that sense of urgency.” It’s important to recall that at the very same time the Biden team was imploring Russia to help get Iran to accept their offer, Putin was already massing his troops on Ukraine’s borders.

In the context of America’s use of Putin to negotiate and guarantee Obama’s “legacy” foreign policy initiative, it’s not hard to see the logic behind Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine when he did: The Russian leader knew that he had America over a barrel. The timing of Putin’s decision had less to do with Xi Jinping’s reported personal request to hold off until the Beijing Olympics were over than it does with Joe Biden’s urgency to get back into the Iran deal. Even if Ukrainian sovereignty truly mattered to the American side, the White House’s diplomatic self-debasement made its priorities clear—the Americans would swallow anything to get back into the Iran deal.

In January, Biden effectively signed off on Putin’s invasion of Ukraine—and the subsequent instability in the energy market—by signaling that a “minor incursion” into Ukraine would be overlooked by the White House.

Sure, Biden talked tough about imposing sanctions on Russia and called out Putin for his fiendish actions, but the Russians knew that his words were as hollow as Obama’s meaningless sanctions over Crimea. And the Russians gleefully rubbed Biden’s nose in it. Lavrov boasted publicly that the United States had provided written guarantees that sanctions imposed over Ukraine would have no effect on Russia’s nuclear cooperation with Iran. In other words, the cash influx that the JCPOA promised Putin would be unaffected by whatever happened in Ukraine. No matter how many Ukrainians Putin murdered, Biden was going to make the man he called a war criminal even richer. Half a million dead Syrians could testify that America would keep its word.

When the Iran deal is formalized, Iran will be a Russian nuclear client. Russia’s state-controlled Rosatom energy firm and at least four of its major subsidiaries will receive sanctions waivers to finish nuclear projects in Iran worth more than $10 billion. Iran will also be buying weapons from Moscow worth billions of dollars more. By relieving sanctions on Iranian banks, the restored JCPOA provides Putin with financial channels invulnerable to U.S. financial measures.

So if Putin isn’t going to suffer from the sanctions Biden imposed over Ukraine, who will? American voters, of course—and also Ukrainians, who Putin will keep killing with the weapons he acquires with his Iranian nuclear windfall.

People are so stupid to not see through all of this and this administration still chugs along with media cover and no people in the streets up in arms over a war this nation pretty much sanctioned and is using as a Biden piggy bank. Letting Putin & Co dictate the terms of allowing Iran obtain nuclear weapons is insanity, but hey maybe we can blame it on Alzheimers.

'Fact Checkers' Claim Biden Wasn't 'Shaking Hands With Thin Air.' Oh, Really?

Thank God for fact-checkers. Where would we be without them? Instead of believing the evidence provided by our own two eyes, we’re assured that what we see isn’t really what we thought we saw. Except when it is. But that’s another story.

Last Thursday, Joe Biden spoke to students and faculty at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro. It was boilerplate political stuff — blaming the supply chain problems on COVID-19, increased fuel prices on the Russians, and inflation wasn’t his fault.

At the end of the speech, Biden’s eyes became a little glassy and he turned around slowly and extended his hand. Except there was no one there. He turned the other way and mumbled something to himself with his hand still extended.

https://tinyurl.com/mrxxxbkv

That’s what I saw. That’s what you saw. But what did the “fact checkers” see?

IBC:

The viral video, which is only 30 seconds, is part of a 40-minute speech. Biden’s speech was about the supply chain crisis and also appeared to press Congress to increase funding for semiconductors production.

Looking at the full video, which was live-streamed by WFMY News 2 on YouTube, gives more clarity. If you fast forward to the end of the video, it becomes clear that Biden wasn’t shaking hands with thin air. In fact, he was gesturing at the people on the right and eventually behind him who were cheering. He even gestures toward the crowd on the left side of the dais, but it is covered by a mic stand.

The relevant video only needed to be “only 30 seconds,” so who cares how long the speech was? That’s misdirection in the extreme.

But note the description of what our eyes are seeing: “… it becomes clear that Biden wasn’t shaking hands with thin air. In fact, he was gesturing at the people on the right and eventually behind him who were cheering.”

Was it “clear” to you that Biden’s extended hand was anything other than a gesture used by a human being when expecting a reciprocal hand to be offered? Or was it a gesture to the crowd? If it was a gesture to the crowd, what was the president trying to convey? Gratitude?

Sorry boys, that’s a no-go on gesture to the crowd.

An Indian website Digiteye was even more comical in its “explanation.”

Secondly, the hand extension could always be a gesture at someone in the audience for a reaction, as is the case here. Thirdly, in another video, he turned his back to the camera when another gesture with his hand is seen clearly.

See the video here which shows the angle differently as if he is gesturing about someone. Move to 1 hour 17 minutes of this video and watch the second gesture. Hence, the claim was misrepresentation of a gesture caught by camera from one particular angle
.

You would think that, in order to be a credible fact-checker, at the very least, there shouldn’t be any overt bias in the analysis.

Snopes, the granddaddy of all fact-checkers on the internet, took great pains to explain why miscaptioned videos and photos cause all sorts of problems.

And then they went ahead and tried to tell their readers that what they saw was all in their head.

We naturally expect captions to accurately describe content. So when we encounter a video captioned “Biden shaking hands with thin air after finishing a speech,” we’re primed to believe we’re going to see a video of Biden doing just that.

But is that case? Does this “shaking hands” caption match the one you created for yourself above? When you watched the video when it was presented without a caption, did you see Biden “shaking hands with thin air”?

Maybe Biden wasn’t “shaking hands with thin air.” But he wasn’t “gesturing to the crowd,” either. I’d be willing to listen to a reasonable explanation of what Biden was doing with his extended hand, fingers closed, waiting for someone to grasp his hand in friendship.

But I can’t put up with groveling sycophants who try to make me think that I didn’t see what I know I saw.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/rick-moran/2022/04/17/fact-checkers-claim-biden-wasnt-shaking-hands-with-thin-air-oh-really-n1590451

Joe Biden’s ‘Poorest Man In Congress’ Humble Brag Trips Over Hunter’s Pesky Laptop

Virginia Kruta, DailyWire, Apr 19, 2022 - President Joe Biden’s often-repeated humble brag about his ranking as the “poorest man in Congress” — along with his claim that people should not make money while holding public office — appeared to be at odds with some of the alleged lucrative business deals mentioned in emails and texts tied to his son Hunter.

Biden brought up the topic on Tuesday at Port Authority in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, during a speech touting the impact of his bipartisan infrastructure deal.

“The recently completed Piscataqua River turning basin project, led by the Army Corps of Engineers, received $1.6 million from the infrastructure law, topping off the $18.2 million the Army Corps had allocated for the project in fiscal year 2021,” Seacoastonline reported.

“I was listed — I had the great pleasure of being listed as the poorest man in Congress for 36 years,” Biden said. “I still had — was making a hell of a lot more money than anybody else because I was getting a senator’s salary. No kidding.”

“I didn’t think you should make money while you’re in office,” he continued, adding, “But at any rate, the point of it is this: an awful lot of people are hurting. It makes a big difference.”

Biden’s claim that politicians should not make money while serving the people appeared to fly in the face of reports — and even Hunter Biden’s own admission — that the family name was used to secure meetings and possibly even grease the wheels of foreign business transactions.

“It is impossible for me to be on any boards without saying that I’m the son of the vice president of the United States — lots of things would not happen in my life if my name wasn’t Biden,” Hunter Biden told ABC News in late 2019.

Monica Crowley noticed the connection, tweeting about Hunter Biden’s communications stating that 10% of profits from foreign business dealings were to be “held by H [Hunter] for the big guy” — and the claim made by Tony Bobulinski that then-Vice President Joe Biden was the aforementioned “Big Guy.”

“Unless you mean tens of millions from China, Russia and Ukraine, in which case it’s [at least] 10% for the Big Guy!” Crowley tweeted.

The contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, which were passed off by legacy media and numerous former intelligence officials as Russian misinformation in the weeks leading up to the 2020 presidential election, have recently returned to the forefront – and a number of outlets are beginning to concede their veracity.

“It seems pretty clear that Hunter Biden was trading on his father’s name to make a lot of money,” CNN’s John Harwood said.

Here we have verifiable proof of graft, corruption and quid pro quo and they still hold Biden up like he's reputable. He's an avowed racist liar with kiddie touching problems.

Who’s In Charge Of America Right Now? Because It Isn’t The Man Getting Wrangled By A Giant Easter Bunny

Given the state of our grocery shelves, southern border, gas prices, job openings, foreign policy, public schools, inflation, and health care, it would be awfully nice to know who’s really running the greatest country on earth.

The White House celebrated Easter on Sunday with its traditional egg roll, but the Resurrection Day festivities turned into a national embarrassment thanks to the president. His handlers, including his wife, did their best to walk him around like a pet, telling him when to sit, speak, and stay.

This all raises the obvious and alarming question: Who is in charge of the greatest country on Earth right now? Because it sure as heck isn’t Joe Biden.

If you haven’t seen any of the footage, you might think this is an exaggeration, but it isn’t. Here’s Jill Biden monopolizing a children’s book reading, with her husband announcing, “And they’re not going to let me read at all.”

“I’ll let you— here, you can start us off,” the first lady said patronizingly, letting the president read only the first page.

https://tinyurl.com/y52mn88a

And here’s Jill Biden tapping Joe on the arm with the command to “just stay,” presumably so he didn’t wander off as he is wont to do, followed by the duo awkwardly laughing it off as if she hadn’t just treated the president of the free world like a puppy in training.

https://tinyurl.com/yzfzexr9

Following the president’s address from the White House, the first lady jumped in, instructing him to do the obvious: “Wave, wave.”

https://tinyurl.com/4u4tz9kk

Of course, if there’s anything we know about marital dynamics, it’s that “Type A” wives often stay on top of the little details and help their husbands do the same. But this Joe Biden cringiness wasn’t just the presidential equivalent of misplacing a wallet or not being able to find something that’s located smack-dab in the middle of the fridge. This was like watching an assisted-living nurse spoon-feed a patient.

Worse, it wasn’t just Biden’s wife taking care of him; even a giant furry was tasked with wrangling the president. When Biden started yammering about Pakistan and Afghanistan — his failed and deadly withdrawal from which became one of the many defining crises of his presidency — the Easter bunny stepped in to cut off the president from saying another word.

https://tinyurl.com/ycycah5x

If by some delusion, anyone still had any remaining confidence in the competence of our executive, that should have shattered it. But this isn’t just about pointing out the Biden gaffe machine’s perpetual blunders. It’s a serious question: Who is in charge?

We know it isn’t Joe Biden, and although his wife had the reins on Sunday, we know the first lady’s power is extremely limited. It probably isn’t the person in the bunny suit either.

We also know it isn’t Kamala Harris, who despite being decades his junior can’t string together a more coherent sentence than he can and seems to be largely shielded from the administration’s pet policy work in true “Veep” fashion.

It isn’t White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who gets schooled by Fox News’ Peter Doocy on a near-daily basis and is rumored to be leaving her post soon for a gig at MSNBC, where she’ll continue to spin for the Biden administration.

We also know it isn’t the Democrats in Congress, who don’t have a large enough majority to do jack-diddly except to advance Biden’s Supreme Court nominee (not to be confused with a biologist) to the bench — with Republican help.

Who’s in charge of the United States is an important question, and this isn’t a laughing matter. All our foreign adversaries are watching this and licking their chops. Weakness invites aggression, as we’ve already seen with Russia’s advance on Ukraine and the systematic destruction of the U.S. southern border.

So here we are: more than 330 million people, ostensibly in the hands of a president who’s being ushered around by an Easter bunny, with no idea who’s actually in charge around here. Given the state of our grocery shelves, southern border, gas prices, job openings, foreign policy, public schools, inflation, and health care, it would be awfully nice to know.

Biden approval rating among Hispanic voters has ‘plummeted’

There is a huge immigration crisis at our border, and the Biden administration’s turn a blind eye to illegal migrants crossing then border is not translating into votes from the hispanic community.

“President Biden’s approval rating among Hispanics has plummeted as the historically Democratic bloc’s support for Republicans continues to increase, presenting an electoral problem for Democrats, whose immigration policies have fueled much of this shift” reports Just the News.

According to a a Quinnipiac poll released last week, only 26% of Hispanic voters approve of Biden’s job performance, compared to 54% who disapprove.

A staggering 41% of Hispanic voters “strongly disapprove” of Biden’s handling of the presidency, while just 12% “strongly approve.”

Hispanics represent the country’s second largest voting bloc by ethnicity.

A downward trend in Hispanic support for Biden has been ongoing for months. Biden comfortably won the Hispanic vote in 2020 with 59%, according to the Pew Research Center.

“Since then, however, Hispanic support for the president has plummeted, reaching the 30s last year and now the 20s. Even polling finding a higher approval rating for Biden among Hispanics today still shows a 20-plus-point drop over the past year” adds Just the News.

There may also be an entire shift away from the Democratic Party as a whole for the Hispanic voting population.

Just the News’ research uncovered:

The National Republican Congressional Committee’s Battleground Survey Project, for example, found that Republicans have made substantial gains among Hispanic voters since the 2020 elections, narrowing the gap by almost 20 percentage points.

Other polling has shown Hispanics evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, a seismic shift from what was once a lopsided balance in favor of Democrats.

Even polling finding a less dramatic shift still shows Hispanics are now migrating across party lines to the GOP.

One sign of this shift manifesting in electoral politics was last year’s Virginia gubernatorial race. Glenn Youngkin, the Republican victor, won the Hispanic vote by about a dozen points, once an unthinkable margin.

Polling has shown a strong majority of Americans — and upwards of 70% of Hispanics — are increasing in disapproval how Biden is handling immigration specifically, including of the southern border.

“The Biden administration’s tone-deaf pandering has completely backfired,” said Anna Paulina Luna, a Hispanic-American of Mexican descent who’s running for Congress in Florida’s 13th District. “Hispanics on border towns are especially frustrated with the irresponsible messaging of the current administration regarding illegal immigration and open borders.”

The mayor of one such town near the border, Uvalde, Texas, said he believes the situation at the border will cause many Democrats to vote for Republicans in November.

“I think you’re going see a lot of people that would normally go Democrat … vote red,” Mayor Don McLaughlin told the “Just the News, Not Noise” television program, noting Democrats don’t want to discuss the border at all.

“By ending Title 42, President Biden welcomes an influx of migrants to the U.S. that our system is not prepared to handle,” Rep. Maria Salazar (R-Fla.) told Just the News this week. “He has no plan to solve the issue at our southern border, and it’s hitting my community — the Hispanic American community — the hardest.”

“We Latinos don’t want open borders,” she added. “We want safety for our families, order at the border, and a growing economy.”

What happened to America? Joe Biden happened

President Joe Biden’s standing among Americans is embarrassingly bad. According to a Quinnipiac poll released last week, when asked if they “approve or disapprove of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as president,” a meager 33% of respondents said they approved, 54% expressed disapproval, and 13% said they didn’t know or had no opinion.

As you might expect, the numbers are different depending on which party a respondent belonged to, with far more Democrats giving the President the thumbs up than Republicans. The real telling number though was among Independent voters, where only 25% approved of the job Mr. Biden is doing.

Independent voters will be the real decision-makers in upcoming elections, so one has to wonder, how is it that only one out of four think our President is doing his job? What happened?

To answer that question, the logical place to start would be to understand American priorities. An IBD/TIPP poll this past week asked Americans to select the country’s top three economic issues. There were no surprises.

The number one response was gasoline prices. That was selected as one of the top three by 51% of respondents. The average driver in the United States drives 14,263 miles annually. Taking into consideration an average fuel economy of 24.2 miles per gallon and the current price of gas, each driver will spend an extra $800 this year. It is easy to understand why that is a priority for people.

The second most chosen economic issue was inflation. Forty-six percent chose inflation among their biggest concerns. The latest CPI report shows that prices increased 8.5% year over year. That is the highest jump since 1981, meaning for about half of Americans, it is the highest inflation in their lifetime. A paycheck doesn’t go as far when you are paying a lot more than you used to, for the exact same thing.

The third most concerning item for people asked about the American economy was food prices. Thirty-seven percent listed skyrocketing food prices among their three. A family can choose whether or not to buy a new car or take that Disney vacation, but no one gets to choose whether or not to eat.

Ironically all three are related. When the price of gas goes up, it is a major factor in driving inflation. It costs more to deliver any product, or even any ingredient in any product during production, thus, the end product must charge more to recoup its costs and make a profit. This is especially true for food. It costs more for the farmer to raise crops or livestock. It costs more to get the food to the wholesale market. It costs more to distribute and stock any item, all of which means it costs more at the cash register.

If gas prices were still $1.89 a gallon as they were during Trump’s final year in office, we wouldn’t be seeing the same jump in costs for virtually everything else. What happened?

Joe Biden happened.

Actions have consequences. Immediately upon taking office as President, Mr. Biden pulled an administrative dirty trick and canceled the Keystone XL pipeline. That meant any plans to get regular oil shipped safely into the United States from Canada were gone. Next Mr. Biden stopped oil and gas leases on federal lands. More than 20% of fuels produced in the United States come from federal lands.

Oddly, at the same time, Mr. Biden gave his blessing to the completion of Russia’s Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to Germany.

Mr. Biden inherited an energy-independent country from President Trump. Mr. Trump’s policies effectively meant that no longer was the United States subject to the whims of OPEC or other oil-producing nations. By reversing Mr. Trump’s policies, Mr. Biden managed to make the U.S. energy-dependent again within 16 months. At the same time Mr. Biden vilified domestic production, America imported more from Russia, simultaneously filling Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war chest with the proceeds. That’s a double whammy from Mr. Biden’s policies.

America was the number one producer on the planet, but that was nixed by Mr. Biden and the result was less oil and gas on the world markets. Less supply means higher prices. From inauguration day until the day before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, gasoline prices in the United States shot up 48%. If you consider the average price during Mr. Trump’s final year in office that increase was even higher.

The Biden administration tells us all of this was done in the name of saving the planet from the doom of global warming. No one will be able to afford food or gas, but somehow these actions will save us. Greenies haven’t been real clear on the end result or when we can expect it, but trust them, they are saving the world, one-tenth of a degree per decade at a time.

How does America feel about that logic? Record gas prices? Record inflation? Not good. In fact, Americans of all political stripes overwhelmingly want the US to be energy independent again. When asked if they agreed with the following statement, “The United States should pursue energy independence even if it means relying on domestic fossil fuels at the expense of climate change priorities,” 64% of Americans agreed somewhat or strongly. Twelve percent were unsure.

That leaves less than one in four Americans that think jacking up your gas prices, home fuel, car costs and grocery bills are just part of the price society must pay for an ill-defined battle against climate change.

Broken out by party affiliation, 73% of Republicans want energy independence. So do 68% of Democrats. Sixty percent of Independents feel the same way.

After two years of denying that his policies had anything to do with higher gas prices, Mr. Biden announced a reversal of course on one major item, allowing a resumption of leasing for oil and gas drilling on federal lands. He also put through an emergency order allowing the sale of ethanol in fuel at a 15% blend, which environmentalists have long howled will damage the earth.

Mr. Biden’s policies have created results that have caused his popularity, and that of his party, to plummet. Does this recent reversal mean he is now willing to sacrifice his core constituency of radical environmental leftists in an effort to try and win back some more moderate friends? The problem for Mr. Biden is that his sudden reversal is a tacit admission that it was his own misguided policies that caused the problem in the first place.

More action is necessary of course. Sixteen Republican state attorneys general want the Biden administration to reverse course and resume construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. Getting energy from Canada seems more stable than from Venezuela or Iran.

Mr. Biden can’t help himself, however. His administration announced Tuesday it reimplemented core protections to an environmental law on infrastructure projects, a climate-related regulation that former President Trump had rolled back.

So after spending two years spouting off about the absolute imminent necessity of infrastructure projects throughout the United States, Mr. Biden now is making them more expensive and slower to achieve.

The bottom line is this: Only one in three Americans think Mr. Biden is doing his job. Most are hurting at the gas pump, at the grocery store and in everyday life. An overwhelming number want energy independence for the United States so our nation can control our own destiny and economy.

Despite all of that Mr. Biden has prioritized global warming above all else. A recent Rasmussen poll showed only 4% of Americans put climate change at the top of their priority list, but Mr. Biden, John Kerry and the liberal media don’t care. They are convinced they know better than you or me or hundreds of millions of Americans. They would literally rather see Americans suffer and have a decreased quality of life than take a step back from the cult of global warming.

What happened to America? Joe Biden happened, that’s what.

All foretold. All avoidable. It's not really that Joe Biden happened. It's about a lot of stupid people putting their hopes and dreams of killing Orangeman Bad and backfiring on them...their children...their grandchildren...their neighbors...their co-workers...anyone they come into contact with...all because they wanted to throw a tantrum and #RESIST. Yeah, that and Biden happened.

He's polling worse than Trump and now the media, who wanted him in so bad they buried the laptop scandal, is now turning on him.

He's a giant turd. He always has been, people KNEW it, and they still wanted him over Trump... with whom we were much better off.
