Morning, peoples. Rest and recovery today is the plan. You could say layabout, but this way sounds more medically necessary

Normally make a stew with leftover prime rib... those tacos sound better than a bowl of stew... šŸ‘

The barbacoa I’m making uses brisket. Beef cheeks would be even more traditional.

We wiped out the prime rib except one small end piece.

The extra foot would make a good fish processing board or a couple of cutting boards.

That's exactly what I did with it. Asked the wife if she wanted it for a cutting board. She did.

Had to cut it on my tailgate with the neighbor's circular saw. Apparently Home Depot doesn't cut butcher block. It's 1.5" thick and the kid said they do as much as 1" but no more... won't fit. Hmmmmmmm... don't sound right to me, but we got it done and it's straight as an arrow.

Another job well done. Wasn't it great that the leftover cutting board material you for bought for your wife's new cutting board just happened to fit on your workbench?

HA!

She knew why I bought the wood. She was also happy I saved about $700 doing it myself. The cutting board was just a bonus.

I polyurethaned that, too. Just waiting for it to dry and then I'll drill countersink holes from underneath and screw it to the cabinets.

Lasagna in the oven for eating in about an hour.

Have a sinus headache that wants to pop my eyes out of their sockets.

Maybe if I jam a pencil up my nose it will relieve the pressure.

Bucky, I really hope you don't have the cold I have. I have spent the last five days with my face hurting. The whole face. Yesterday my sinuses were so buggered up that when I blew my nose my teeth hurt. I used one of those sinus rinse things and the stuff coming out of my sinuses was the color of pureed orange yams...

Like I said, I really hope you don't have this version of ebola.
